we use piss in gallon jug add one raw egg and some crushed garlic let sit in sun for a couple days and spread around ya plants deer won't bother them again works here been doing it for years and never loose any to deer since using it

Don't matter if season is in. As long as you eat what you kill and aren't out to just slaughter them. Just my opinion tho. I even know some game wardens that turn a blind eye to u if they know you are killing out of season for food.
Problem here is with the eggs and garlic it would draw in the bears. Those big clumsy bastards will unknowingly smash your whole garden just by walking through
