Deficiency?

Hey everyone just looking for some advice on a possible deficiency. A couple leaves on my babe had some brown spot near the tips. These leaves were located on the top of the plant also. I use promix with age old organics. I have also top dressed with insect frass. I use well water which is hard but I though I would be alright without adding a cal/mag supplement using the hard water. The cal/mag def was just my first guess. If anyone could me out and let me know what you think, it will be greatly appreciated.

The pic is crappy but where it's lighter green the near the end of the blades are the tiny brown spots.

Using hard water could be the culprit here, your water isn't treated is it because that would be even worse. Do you notice a buildup of white on the surface of your soil, if so stop using that water and start buying cooler water, that's what I use and I have hard water but mines treated. Check your waters ph first and see if that's not the problem, ideally for soil you want it to be around 6.5.

I'm in Cali myself also using well water I had the same exact thing come in .......started feeding more of my nite containing mag and other trace mins and it helped my situation ......as far as the ph I never ph when I'm in good soil ...no need good soil acts as a ph buffer and a little ph swing isn't a terrible thing In soil growing IMO ....good luck

Its really hard to od on calcium or mag so i always run that stuff. Why not? One less thing to worry about and if you do end up defficiant on one youll be kickin yourself as the plants yellow out because you couldnt fall off that twenty bucks in your back pocket. The other thing is that you never mentioned what ppm youve been feeding at and how often you feed. To me that looks like not enough food in promix because all the leaves i see are pale and yellowing.

That's also kinda what I was thinking but the thing that is kinda telling in the pics is if you look close the leaf is starting to get pale but the veins are still green simulating mag def , but isn't there other def that show yellow leaf with green veins

If you're using smart pots (that's all I use and all I know about) run a couple gallons of plain PH'd water through your plant then feed. When I get that it's because of salt/nutrient build up. With smart pots you don't really have to worry about over watering but don't keep it soaked all the time. I normally run a few gallons through mine every time or every other time depending on if I start getting brown/rusty spots. You'd be surprised at how much salt build up you get just from light feeding. Works for me every time.

Im a firm believer that you should never have a deficiency if your feeding right. In all the years that ive been doing this ive never had a problem with one element lacking...besides calcium. But good nutrients usually have enough micros in them to keep the plant doing just fine as long as the plant is getting enough. Calmag and knowing how to use a parts per million tester (and owning one:lol:) should be all you need. Weed is the easiest plant ive ever grown.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I check ph every time and bring it down to 5.8. I don't use a soil, I use promix which is soilless medium. I always try to get ph between 5.5-6.3. Ppms are around 350 and I am around week 6 in veg. I didn't want to overdo because I have amended insect frass into the medium. I only water once a week and they're in 7 gal pots. Should I water asap with a cal/mag solution. I have a natural product by earth juice called oily can, which is a no nitrogen cal/mag product. Should I just skip that and go get some botanicare cal/mag. My leaves do look a little pale maybe the nitrogen in botanicare's cal/mg will green them up.

No I haven't, I made an assumption that the well water would be enough for the plants. I am going to feed them asap.

Oh ive had bug issues but never a nutrient problem. I always run proper ppms for the size im at though. Smashed out killer hydro though, gone through dirt and all the types of soiless i could find, and plants are always green. There was once when i started soiless that i wasnt feeding enough and thought i could just feed every other or third watering, that i got yellowing but i fixed that quick. ;) the point i was trying to make was that with calmag and a good line of base nutes used properly, that ive never had problems. The only time ive ever fucked things up it was directly a result of grower error...mine.
