I’m on first week of flower and Iv had this dehumidifier for 9+ years lol , I’m getting high humidity. It works sometimes but idk if it’s the amount of vegetation or burned out already of old age . If it’s placed outside the tent is it jus acting like an exhaust fan venting out humid air from the tent or Dose it need to be placed in the tent to act what it’s meant to do. Do I need new tech?

That’s a good question. I’m gonna lean towards it’s gotta be inside the tent to capture moisture.

I had it inside the tent but took a lot of room, but now I’m thinking of hanging it from the bars tent since it’s a gorilla tent it could take its weight. If I go that route I’ll vent out the warm humid air coming from it

The answer depends on where the air going into the tent is coming from and where the air you exhaust out from the tent is going. I always refer to the room that is the source of air as the 'lung room'. So if you decrease the humidity of the lung room,, and thus the air going in, it will reduce the humidity in the tent. But only if you are exhausting the air from the tent into a different room or outside. Otherwise you are just forcing the dehumidifier to endlessly try to pull moisture out of the air and making it work a lot harder. Inside the tent is better, but people don't always have room for that.

you posted again while I was typing. Humidity will be easier to control if you have drier air going into the tent and exhaust that air outside. Otherwise you basically need to dehumidify the entire garage.

There’s no air going into the tent (sealed grow) supplementing Co2. Tent is in the garage

There are newer units that are smaller and stronger.
Pretty sure moist air is denser and falls.
Not sure how much it will capture up high.
What’s the tent size?
What’s
the RH that you’re getting now?

There’s a good gap on the bottom of this door that goes to the outside, I covered the door the other day bcuz I was planning to have lights off during the day to block any light leaks but I decided last week I was gonna run lights during the day jus to be on the safe side. Can it be the garage is humid bcuz I have the door sealed ?

At a given temperature and pressure, humid air is less dense than dry air.

Desired environment is 84 degrees and 64 humidity
I’m getting 68-70 with humidifier working nonstop

Open the passive intake on the bottom of the tent.
You need fresh air circulating to reduce the RH.

So would his unit work up high?
I thought humidity rises, u see all the dehumidifiers above grows. Like commercial grows with the quests above

In an indoor environment , high or low should make no difference.

It’s possible the unit is low on Freon.
Ah i see , I’m filling up the garage with humid air coming from the unit. Recycling humid air all around.I wonder if it’s possible to refill dehumidifiers with freon
