Dehumidifier Questions and such

Because of the wet conditions lately in the midwest my room is running 85-90% humidity in my flower room. So, logically, I picked up a 65 pint dehumidifier today to bring it down. Any tips on running the thing? My room draws air directly from outside so I have set the intake fan to shut off for 6 of the 12 hours of darkness hoping that the dehumidifier will be able to catch up and bring it to a more manageable 50% or so. Am I headed in the correct direction? Can I get away with not running it during the day or is it best to fire it up in intervals? What am I doing? I need help! Thanks in advance! :peace:

i also use outside air, so when needed i run the dehumidifier the 12 hours the lights are off. be careful the dehumidifier throws off heat.

with the cool temps, i have also been able to run it with lights on.

i have my exhaust on a t-stat so if it does get too warm it kick on for a bit.
