Dehumidifier upgrade recommendations

Hey everyone I’m upgrading my sealed grow room which is 10x16’ with 8’ ceilings. I need a better dehumidifier and am looking for recommendations.

-6 over head lights, and half the room has under canopy lights.
-9 plants per light in 1 gallon coco
-C02 supplemented
-currently have a 12k window unit but will be upgrading to a mini split as well( recommendations on a mini split too if you can)

looking to upgrade soon and I really appreciate an help and guidance from you guys.
Thanks in advance

This one done me well. Continuous operation for 5 months straight. Just started making clones smaller and now its barely on but it gets dry around fall/winter but still can get 80rh days in the home.

I bought another one for backup and out of loyalty. Its good to me so Ill look no further. I had my first one for 2 yrs now. I just keep it set to 45rh. Room toggles from 45-50rh same in tents no higher than 55% if plants are fitting snug.

I grow 5 bigger plants in one 10x10 bedroom. 6 mini one liter plants.

You need a small commercial dehumidifier like mine to kick ass and will last a long long time running 24/7 365 days a year. All the crap you can get at Home Depot, etc..............wont last.

Take a look at this https://www.questclimate.com/dehumidifiers/quest-70/

Costs a lot but will run for 10 years plus and will do the job right. Your grow is too big for small residential units to work efficiently.

Thanks for sharing. Yours is a 70 pint? Are you sure that would be enough for me? Also are there any down sides to over sizing?
My Quest 70 sucks out 6 gallons plus a day and its on 50%. My grow is bigger than yours so yes, it would be enough. No down sides to over sizing because you can set your humidity level if that is something you want to do. They have an electrical connection available on the unit for a thermostat. You can also hook it up to a pump and go right to a drain which is awesome because of how much water this removes from the air.

I vent mine thru the wall and into my huge living room. Never feel any of the heat because it cools off quickly.

Awesome thanks! Those are kinda out of budget right now but I’m seeing this brand Vevor and a brand called moiswel. Do you know anything about them? Cheap quality not worth it?

The one i linked above is a beast and heaps cheaper than the quest one . I use it to control the lung room for my two 4ft² grow tents it pulls the lung room down to 35rh no problem .

Im going to pile on with Quest. By once. Fantastic quality and performance. And nice features.

Our model even has an external control circuit so i could control the quest turning on and off without having to cut power at mains (bad for the unit): being right up against our max amps this means i can squeeze out a little more watts over my cannopy cause i dont have to fully reserve 800w for my dehuey, whenever its not running i can use those watts for light. Still have to set that up but yeah, go for quest climate. The guys were very helpfull with online support request. 10/10 experience.

I would look for a company that doesn't cater to growers like quest way over priced! Iam loving my FRAL great units. I have also had good luck with the units in big box stores 300 bucks last 5 years a quest will run a couple grand an maybe last 8-10 years for that amount I can buy 6 units at the big box store.

I agree with you in general here, dedicated grow gear is awfully over priced. If you can find what you quote above its also a good way. For us efficiency in dehuey is quite important, we need something that does very well per watt as we are always fighting our amp limitations.

I use blue ridge mini splits. Well priced and seem to last. For the dehumidifier you really need something like a quest, these lower priced units simply lack the capacity when the lights go out your RH will spike and you'll get budrot. I was able to find a Quest 150 for 1300-1400.

If you're on a budget, I picked up a Moiswell off amazon for my veg room. For the price , I've been very satisfied. A good dehumidifier can make a huge difference in bud quality. Getting the RH to 40% the last few weeks is very important. Just remember once temps drop below 80f, all dehumidifiers start to lose water removing efficiency the lower the temps you go.

Thanks I was actually eyeing the Moiswel 235 pint for the price, glad to see another growing using it.!

That's the one I have. It's not as efficient as a quest and it's very noticeable on my power bill. With that said, it pulls moisture like a beast.

Dehumidifiers are more efficient pulling air from the top of the grow room, as heat rises. Also if you put your dehu up high and can gravity drain it you save energy not needing a condensate pump
