Denser buds?

I think it has to do with genetics. I had two differant stains under the same lights and same conditions. One strain had bigger more open tops and the other strains tops were dense as fuck.

Some strains uptake more nutes than others so the feed may vary. But when your grows all dialed in, there shouldn't be any fluffy buds unless it's popcorn.

Like a fox tail? I think I know what you're talking about. A bunch of skinny buds stacked that makes it look like a fat cola.

Keeping temps low with hi wattage grow lights is always a challenge of course so you'll likely need an exhaust fan upgrade as well but what helped me get very dense bud is adding more lights. 600w is good but I found adding a few LEDs as supplemental lighting gets them rock hard- harder even than some outdoor weed I've seen- this is how I run mine- I've got a 600w, a 300w panel and a couple 185w UFOs- these are not high end LEDs either ordered em directly from Hong Kong. My blue dream plant from last run yielded 5 oz of very dense & resinous golf ball sized buds using these lights.

If it is the subcools supersoil recipe, that is most likely the culprit. I run soley blue dream in hydro and pull 20-24 oz per 600. Ran the same cut in super soil and never got more than 18, and that run was perfect from start to finish. Average yield in super soil was 13 oz per 600.

Hey thanks thats a good idea with the additional LEDs! I had one led in there before specially for flowering but had to take it out because i couldnt reach anymore to move it up. Will get some more for next cycle!

I run moonshine mix organic soil. I probably average the same yield in my room with 1 600 and 2-4 plants in there. Hydro definitely ups the yield but just like my super soil too much to try it lol
