Hi everyone I am about to setup my grow room shortly as I should be getting my license to grown any month now. ;-) Or so I am told. Anyways I have done ebb and flow previously so I have a bit of a comfort zone with that method. My license will allow me to grow at anyone time 35 plants so i will need to break that down to flower / veg and clone/mother.

My shop is a 14' x 22'. It has a man door with a window on the one the long side and a garage door on the front of it. It does not have any plumbing so i have had to haul water to it which currently sucks but i will make do with bigger holding tank for now. Anyways i am needing help in setting it up efficiently but not breaking the bank either. Suggestions for lighting, plant and room sizes. I do have a portable a/c unit a heater a large can fan carbon filter 12". also have 2 4x4 flood and drain tables. Currently 2 1000w hps/mh. Can get more of course. Have a co2 burner, but think there is a leak so will exclude for the moment.
I have a couple grows under my belt but still learning big time. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank you

I'd definitely run at least a cold water line. Hauling water, especially during flower, will become overwhelming. Instead of setting up a water tank, you'd be better off just tapping into one of your water lines, including the sprinklers, to bring water to your shop.

If you want to save money, invest in a 4x8 tent, for the inside of the shop to be able to not only get a handle on your environment, but to help protect against bugs and light leaks. Other than that, use what you currently have to set up as much of the grow you can. Use the 1k's, but consider going to COB LEDs at some point.

Also, don't grow much more than you need, unless you're going to sell it or be a provider. Growing more plants costs considerably more time and money.

Hope that helps a little :)

A diagram of your floorplan would help. What are your needs of the shop? Are you currently using it for something else or do you want the whole shop for growing?

To do it the least in expensive way With what you have now, hang a tarp to section a back corner off 4'x8' hang a light over each tray get some plants, plug in equipment and voila.

If you want to go all out, 14'x10' flower room with 6 600w lights, 12' x 8' veg room with 2 600w. Or leave it open and run 15 lights. Seal it up good of course.

What can you do environmental control wise, heating//cooling, drying/humidifying, and sensors wise?

No plumbing? I'd grow in soil and limit hauling in water to 2 times a week. If you live in a warmer climate and the ground isn't frozen right now I'd run a 3\4" water supply out there.

Plan is to run water line this summer. As ground is frozen.

Currently have 2 x1000w hps/mh dimmable lights

2 - 4x4 flood n drain tables. Currently 1 light n table setup.
6” fresh air fan a cpl oscillating fans
12” exhaust fan on a large 120 can fan carbon filter. It is huge.
Humidifier
A/c unit
Construction heater fir those cold nights when needed.
Co2 burner-propane.
I have the various tds/ec and ph meters.
This is all setup in a section of my building that I have framed and sealed off.
I had played around with some growtronix components years ago and plan to automate again with their controls as I can justify the funds. I also like the gadgets and automation features.

I don’t want to over complicate but want to set it up right the first time. I will be able to grow a total of 35 plants. Does not mean I have to. Just don’t need to go over.

I also made a 4x4 light fixture with a combo of t5 lights and led strips. Was told it would be very good to Use as a replacement light 1000w. It worked quite nice but temps were to cool in the room fir this time of year. Exactly terrible problem to have ;-). Will prob separate and use as additional lighting.

I want to do cobs. Have read a lot as I have been daily. Still waiting to pull trigger and purchase a set to build. Just not fully sure of what to get. So many combos out there so again scared to grab wrong setup. So still reading. Again again.

Appreciate all the input. Please keep it coming. I will try and sketch up a layout but it is s 14x22 workshop as described in first post. I may just complete gut and use fir a cpl rooms. Was hoping to have as part of man cave.

Thanks in advance.

You can also frame and drywall the inside of the shop to create small, independent rooms. It's a little more expensive, but really not much. Studs are cheap, doors at HD are only about $30, and you wouldn't need much drywall or mud to finish it.

Exactly. I have e sketched out many ideas. I also liked the idea of putting a cpl growntents in but that is huge coin as well and not like my pockets are that deep. But yes framing a wall is not hard at all either. All good options.

After having done stuff it to the walls density, I am much more prone to allow myself more space to move around and inspect plants in my own grow.

If you are using CO2, the rest becomes simple, set the aircon, get a controller to flip between humidifying and drying/venting. Get a backdraft damper, and grow some killer weed.

Build out a 8 x10 room. run a sub panel with a 240v 30 amp, 110v 15amp an 2 110v 20 amp.

Setup your current equipment.

Dial in VPD.

Get plants. 16 under each light.

Without a floor plan of your building can't help you out any further. Unless you want to hire me and I will build it out for you.

Are you in the vicinity of Manitoba. As I would gladly take you up on the build. Not that I am lazy but I am lazy and suck at construction/Reno’s.

Floor plan with electric details will come later. Apparently feeding the family is important.
Cheers!

I'm in California. Have Canadian citizenship. Just cover travel costs, room and board. Will be happy to help. Would love to have 100 acres of hemp for seed there!

But your masonic logo super creeps me out.
