Well I have a gnat problem due to my unsterilized soil, and im repotting in some MG organic soil[expecive shit geez].

I've decieded im using pest sripts after I re pot. And I want to use Dia-Earth to prevent future infection.

Is it for use on top of soil? I've heard you can mix it, but when it's wet it's useless....

Thanks ahead of time RollitUp commune!!!

No it's natural. The typical chemical composition of diatomaceous earth is 86% silica, 5% sodium, 3% magnesium and 2% iron. Hydroponics
Freshwater diatomite can be used as a growing medium in hydroponic gardens.
It is also used as a growing medium in potted plants, particularly as bonsai soil. Bonsai enthusiasts use it as a soil additive, or pot a bonsai tree in 100% Diatomaceous earth. Like perlite, vermiculite, and expanded clay, it retains water and nutrients while draining fast and freely allowing high oxygen circulation within the growing medium.

be sure to use food grade diatomacious earth... its safe and not toxic.. as the non-food grade can be.. i take a table spoon of the stuff daily in water.. and it will kill the beneficial organisms in your soil as well, just to let u know.. perma-guard sells the food grade.. u can find a 50lb bag on ebay for 25 dollars plus shipping (mine was 30 dollars shipping)
