The murder and rape part are self evidently accurate and just because you can't refute them, doesn't make them false equivalency.
They point out, quite well, how people have a blind spot for when "authority" does things which would be termed murder or rape if you or I did them, they magically become something else when they do them. What good reason is there to not lock your guns up? They make rapid safes for protection guns.
Leaving 40 something guns laying around is stupid. What if someone breaks in and steals them? Your guns will then be part of the problem.
I'm a gun owner. I'm here to tell you its on us to help solve the problem or it will be solved for us in a way we may not like.
I own guns. I see no reason to not protect my investment. That's a lot of money. I have a safe. A real one. One that you would need a forklift to move. If that's not realistic for you then buy the best you can afford and bolt it in place.
Why spend thousands on an investment and not protect it?
You say things like teach kids the right way. Thing is kids are stupid and do not have the mental capacity to understand the consequences of thier actions.
I'm actually on my way to put a few hundred rounds through an ar15 I just built. It will be locked up when not in use.

You know ill give some people the benefit of the doubt in this.. It just were im from tou dont see this kinda shit.. You dont see murders.. You dont see ppl breaking in and stealing guns... If they do they almost ways get popped by trying to trade them or sell em.. Everybody knows everything around here.. And most ppl wont fool w ppl thdy think would do that. If they do buy them ita to give them back to the owner... The only time ppl really get away is when they hit a dealer or steal them outa a vehicle.. Not a house... I never leave my guns unattended.. If i leave my house is secure.. More secure than a safe imo... But the problem is people and drugs.. Not guns... And these laws are just a sneak peak for what the gov really wants.. If you dont believe that you're brainwahed.. Not all gov but a majority... But i have been to the city and seen the trouble first hand... But its not that way here.. And i woild say we have more guns than any state... Even Alaska... So many handed down and traded guns to ever account for... We are the biggest standing militia in the u.s...and all these problems just arent here..if they are they were brought here from elsewhere... Like the Detroit shit i was speaking of... I guess i think its a people problem and a lack of morals in people.. And making strick laws for people who obey those laws will cause mlre laws to be broke... Its an endless pointless cycle. We are presenting you ideals that may not apply to all situations. You shouldn't feel attacked for people stating you should generally lock up your guns. You were smart to walk that back and in a way you admit you are securing your guns in a few ways. That's fine.
Government is the tool the people use to solve problems that we unavoidably face together; they are inherently social, think tragedy of the commons. We are the government, so it is incorrect to say all people really just want arbitrary control, when many only want to control what we all have to share in a fair way. Gun violence affects us all. We can use many mechanisms to try to mitigate, and gun regulations are one part of that.

My point is about those law is they will either just be broken or not enforced.. Especially here..and jf they are enforced all ppl will do is break them ..and it will most likley cause violence ...im not big into "we are the gov"...its just not so.. They wnat us to think we are but no... They do what they want and dont care about the consequences... The only time they get in shot is if thry make someone mad that is in power and then they come at them.. At that high of a level... Or if they wont play ball they get the ball thrown at their head... I just see way more problems making a law thst wont be upheald or abided by... And for the idiot who said i basically dont see what the point of laws are , all youre doing is showing how stupid you are... No i dont think some of the proposed laws sould be in affect... They are in the cabinets where they stay... I have cameras on my property and enough security to not have to worry about locking them up... I think the gun dealer properly installed it man... They took the bolts out and tipped it over on the metal rollers that u put under car tires and pushed them out to a truck... All on video... 3 safes took about 12 min
