Did I just screw myself?

I am in week 4 of flower and I accidentally left a 60 watt floor lamp on in my flower room for 2 hours into dark cycle tonight before I caught it and turned it off. Are my plants going to go hermie on me now? Is there anything I can do?

you're good.. it doesn't work like that.
You can leave lights on and not have hermies. Just try and not do it again :)

absolute worst case scenario, a bit of shock and stunting, but i've had timers break on me and had flowering plants in 36 hours light, works out fine in the end, long as youget the basics right you'll get some half decent smoke regardless, it is however a fine art reaching for your own personal perfection, relax have faith and enjoy it!

Phew! Thanks everyone, I feel a little better :) I suppose leaving a small floor lamp on isn't as bad as if I had left my actual grow lights on, but you hear stories of people claiming things like "oh I accidentally cracked the door to my flower room while it was dark, and all my plants turned hermie."

These must be old wives tales but I now must admit I'm not sure what it would take to cause a plant to hermie? I suppose some sort of light leak would do it, but surely there must be a threshold right? I mean even in the wild, plants are still exposed to moolight, starlight, and in modern society, passing headlights, porch lights, flashlights etc.

My own flower room for instance has a few minor lights leaks because there is a window in the room which I've sealed with a piece of opaque black dropcloth. But if I sit in the dark for a minute and allow my eyes to adjust, I can see a few pinpricks of light coming through the duct tape. No matter how much tape I use I can never seem to get em all.

It's not an old wives tale - inconsistant lighting schedule will cause them to hermie . One time a couple of hours probably won't hurt anything . But several times can screw them up pretty bad , I've had it happen . Some plants may also be genetically predisposed to becoming hermies .

I hear that some people leave lights on for 24 hours once a week and it doesn't harm the plant in any way, they think it helps growth.

A few hours of light during the dark period will actually stop any THC production that night so I've read anyway, supposedly 5 mins or more stops the production, and it doesn't restart until the next dark period starts,
