Did i mess up my main cola?

As I was defoliating last week, I had the not so brilliant idea to prune fan leaves that were (I thought) blocking lower growth. Did I mess up the cola?25362EEE-E161-44B4-A3B6-387FDBF97AF9.jpeg

Didn’t know about that technique, just checked it out. Wouldn’t tucking the leaf, therefore putting it away from light turn it into an energy sink? Just wondering.
It is not detrimental to plant ( any plant ) you are just allowing some inner growth to push upward by unblocking it . Think of it like moving hair away from your face … Leaf reserves would still be in play since you did not chop it off .

Got it. Thanks a lot!

What week of flower are you? I start taking taking lower fan leaves off around week 6 and work my way up a few at a time until I start a flush. By the end of flower there's almost none left.

I advise against removing all your fan leaves and flushing

Flushing has proven to be bro science, and leaves serve several biological functions that the plant needs for general health and bud production.

I've been told that but honestly always done it anyways in an attempt to get the salts out and improve the taste, just what i had been taught.
Do you dial back the nutes at all or just follow the feed schedule? The feed schedules usually dial it back and get some carbs in at the end anyways I guess.

defoliating isnt always necessary ive seen some strains that were super leafy where it made sense but on the other hand ive seen some where you wouldn't need to remove anything depends on the situation. i think of the fan leafs like solar panels

I feed as low as .8 ec for freshly rooted clones and as high as 1.4, but I will give my plants whatever they need to be happy. Youre looking at it all wrong my friend. Plants dont hold salts, nor can they be flushed out of plants. I flush my medium every one to two weeks, but I grow in rockwool with dry amendments or salts. A salt is just the collection of ions, and thats what the roots eat. Im not saying that you cant flush, it doesnt make a huge difference really, but at least look into the science behind what it is youre doing. Removing all the fan leaves before harvest just seems like a terribly misguided attempt to avoid extensive trimming.
