Did i over dry?

actually it is rocket science (almost). THE PROCESS according to you is dry it for two weeks. it i let my buds dry for two weeks in my climate they would be dryer than dust. I am not going to buy a new heating system for my house so i can control the humidity in my whole house just to dry some herb. you were the one that mentioned 10% - 15% moisture content. all i wanted to know was how you measured that. instead of answering you go on one of your tirades.
Ya fuck it your not my type of grower - jar bud at day five day three for your humidity and assume the world over if ever a crop was grown or dried in low humidity the result was shit weed - fuck before this modern age one day of 20% humidity and crops harvestsxand everything just crumbled to dust.

Fuck dude ive really struggled to protect my bud from the instant death humidity brings, with my heating on during winter it was 20% humidity and every plant and harvest just pure dust i tell ya....

Thank fuck for boveda, i now hang them on every spare space of wall in my grow room and have exspensive rh monitoring equipment of fuck knows how id get smokable bud.

Need you dumdasses to teqch me how wet my bud should be when jarring - exact moisture so i can takemeasurement with my lab equip and lastly the exact science of moisture and enzymatic process since i know you all know this shit and i dont.

Again after ten years looking forward to real bud not this constant dust you get if you accidentally leave your weed hanging too long....

:-)

I thought id have the same problem, its winter and the whole house is 20% humidity, grow room is 30% which is perfect for late flower but i was worried about conditions when drying.

Just harvested 2 days ago, im using a humidifier in a spot in my basement blocked off with garbage bags to keep it dark also to add more or less airflow to keep the humidity in check. with the setting on low and and figuring out how much venting to have with the garbage bags i can now keep my humidity anywhere from 45-60 or even higher if i do the higher setting. I'm sticking to 55-60 RH and 60 degree temps, trying to go low and slow. Day 2 of drying and they still smell amazing

Ya that humidity monster is a fucker, put humidity to max and jar on day five so they dont overdry to a crisp :-)

Yep but its dry enough to smoke after a week but give it another so its not releasing moisture into the jar. After two weeks it will loose that green taste. Crap bud is always crap no dry or cure can change it.

The fact you can smoke dried bud without the need to jar it and that many here do should hint at the actual dryness you want before jarring. Forget meters and boveda packs, spark up a joint of your harvest and that will tell you everything.

Im not sure why peeps need to check humidity of jars if bud is dry and you didnt jar in humid conditions then your bud will store mold free.

Dried bud still has ten percent or so moisture - at this level it grinds well smokes well and stores welk. This is enough for the cure to take place you dont need it wetter and all that modern ruvmbbush peeps do.

To overdry bud simply apply mild heat and see how dry it actualky is when you force that ten or so oercent out.

I cant say more, there is a large crowd of blind leading the blind, hit me up when you tire of their advice complex stuff and damp bud :-)

You keep saying you let it hang for 2 weeks. I think I remember you actually saying it can't be over dried in that amount of time. Im sure it's because of my dry apartment this time of year. But no way in hell could I hang dry for that long. It would crumble to dust if I tried that. I over hang dried a plant a couple weeks ago in less than a week. Maybe I missed something?

There is a thread just below this i wrote - if you read it tjoroghly and the wiki entries at the end you should have a good understanding of where im ccoming from with the science.

You will also notecdried dose not mean zeto water ccontent.

Humidity is a marginal thing - i dry in 20% all winter long so how come my buds arent dust after two weeks hmmmm

I thought 55 was the number im aiming for still hitting 61 over night. My buds don't feel dry just light and little sticky
You don't want to dry below 57% rh, they claimed Bud will no longer cure below that point.

You should go into the drying and curing forum and look it up before you go any lower than 57

58% is my recommendation, I control my dry slowly to 60% then jar, then I cure till 58%, and then I vacuum seal, good luck

60/60 is ideal for best terpene preservation. Shoukd take at least 2 weeks.

If you dry low and slow you wouldn't even need to cure in jars, that's what a few people in here are trying to tell you. You will get much better smell and taste from a 2 to 3 week dry at 60/60 then doing the whole jar, burp, and cure for months thing.

Understand. I don't have a place to humidify up to 58%. So most of my curing is done in jar's or 1 gal freezer bags. My point was not everyone has the ability to slow hang dry. Good read

In my hydro my girls often dried standing, not one thing touched till it was ready. Flower humidity maintained (~30%) and the temps stabilised about 18C iirc correctly.

Took around 2 weeks then went into jars and cos I'm an honest but forgetful stoner type they didn't get burped that often if I could be bothered at all so must've been about right cos they smoked nice n smooth.

Ive never had a complaint about buds from plants dried standing but have had complaints when I tried the burping thing however
