Did I screw up?

I put the cart before the horse at the worst time. Spur of the moment decision to do my first legal indoor full cycle grow without thinking it through. What was supposed to be a cheap closet grow turned into this. My “1000w” LED had an on-board cooling fan also quit on me on day 17 from seed. The light still works, but I am returning it when my replacement arrives.

Mars SP-250
4x2x5 tent
Industrial floor fan
Ac infinity s6
Remo nutes
Promix with 20% pearlite
iPower 6 inch carbon filter
25ft Ac infinity ducting

Temps 23-27c
RH 40-60
Light at 24” 18/6

My new LED will be arriving this week and the inline, ducting and filter won’t be in until week 6.5 from seed. Will I be able to manage until then easily? I’m stressing out even though everything is happy and healthy at 20 days in. Did I at least choose a decent setup for multiple grows down the road?

Haha no grow is ever as cheap as you think it will be! Just hang in there. If you can, run that broken light 16/8 until the new light shows up to try and keep it from burning out completely. Sounds like you've got the right idea and are pulling things together. At this stage if you can stick a small fan in the tent you should be alright until your vent fan etc show up

Curious what brand of light is already having problems at only 17days in use.
Is it the Mars on your list?
Are they replacing it or did you order another brand?

The light was a Bestva 1000w with veg and bloom. The Mars SP-250 is a linear quantum board with heat sink, but cheaper diodes. I can’t build something better because time is an issue. The light still performs, but it’s a ticking time bomb. Thought of getting two similar replacement LED, but cheap Chinese QC is not worth the anxiety of waiting for something to fail. Im in too deep to go backwards now. 230 jumped up to 900 pretty quick lol (CAD)

Oh... did an amazon return on the Bestva. Just waiting for the Mars replacement to send it back to get my refund.

I jumped the gun. The mrs finally gave in, and I wasn’t expecting a pandemic to cause problems with getting stuff lol. My genetics are unknown (gifts I forgot to label) so I’m not in the best position in the first place. Going to have to let them tell me what they need and hope for the best.

I was too excited that the mrs gave in to let me grow inside. I think I jumped the gun so there was no turning back or changing her mind. All I get now is a stern look and her holding her ring finger out when I told her I was done spending. She is even keeping an eye on temps and RH for me now. I forgot about how stressful taking care of plants can be when things fail or get out of control. It makes me feel reassured that everything should be fine. When you put this much time, energy and money into something, it better be worth it in the end

Even the failures are worth it if you learn something my friend!

Just wait until your trying to get the wife to let you order another $200 in seeds or a second tent so you can veg and flower at the same time! I usually get a different finger pointed at me at that point haha. But she enjoys the finished product so I get away with it. And it is always good to have a second set of eyes on everything.

Got the 6” 400cfm in case I get more room to jump up to a 4x4 and ordered 4L jugs of nutes. Already have been there in my head and planned accordingly.
