Did i top my plants wrong?

this is my first grow and I don't know if i topped my plants correctly, i topped them last night and i'm just kind of wondering if i did it correctly :-| and how are my plants doing so far? do they look healthy? my plants are on week 3 no feedings yet, i re-potted 3 of them like a week ago and they like stopped growing for like 2 days which i think is normal? and i ran out of dirt for the last one i was going to re-pot and i couldn't get dirt until a week later so I just recently (1-2 days ago) re-potted the last one which is the one on the bottom left corner or the only plant that isn't topped on the picture, and it has stopped growing, just like the other ones. One last question, i have been watering my plants with rain water, I collected 1 gallon of rainwater and i am about to run out (I don't even have enough left to water 1 plant) what water should i go to to water my plants, would tap water work? like let it sit out at room temperature for 24 hours, or should i go out and buy some distilled water or some spring water? what is the best water to use that has had a good success on you guys (i don't have pH down or pH up or any pH measure-er).
any help is appreciated guys thanks.
sorry for my newb ass questions.

Yeah its too early to tell. I topped a couple of my plants and a couple have 4 tops(guess I missed). Barring distilled water like battery top up water tap water left out is fine. I dunno about rain water its good for bonsai trees and some peeps like it because it got minerals and stuff in it.
On the other hand I personally think it might have contaminants in it but thats just me.

I would get them out of those transparent containers, and put them in black pots. Or at least surround them with duct tape. Roots don't see the light of day in nature. :bigjoint:
