Pic 2 from your second picture post imo looks like there are a few pistils. Still too early to start screaming male though. Post 1 pic #1 of the node w/ what you find as weird growth is just part of the plant, they grow on both male/fem and the buds/nuts will start to develop just above that piece of node growth.

If its a clone then you shouldnt be so worried. Let it grow

If he is a trusted friend why were you charged for the clone?
