that reminds me.
i should go cash out $300,000 worth of investments and pay $100,000 worth of tax on it so i can instantly pay off my $200,000 mortgage so that i can save $150,000 on interest over 30 years.
it's not like that $300,000 worth of investments will yield thirty times more in earnings over 30 years than the $50,000 i would save on interest after subtracting the taxes i'd have to pay.
some guy who lives in a trailer which will depreciate to $0.00 in that same time told me it was the smart thing to do in between melting down batches of pennies on his george foreman grill.
