Looks good bro, I don't know much about hps lights but I know it needs some distance. I would start at 21" and see how they do, maybe move it down a few inches at a time and watch them close. I wouldn't go closer than a foot..
congrats
Its prob not a good idea to do this but i put it at 1 foot.... how does light hurt a plant? the temps are at 79f.
Dang nice man, leaving the cfl party I see haha, they will like the hps.
doesn't matter haha, i still wanna see how your DR's turn out under an hps. I was thinking of getting a MH but the temperature in my cab is on average 85, and I am sure an HID light would bring that up a lot more.
dam those are some great plants good job
Well I mean I would of course get an air cooled reflector with an MH. How loud is the fan running in yours? Because I don't want it to be too loud really.
well i have a 435 cfm and its prety loud, i would have gotten something lower like i saw a 168 but i dont know if that would do the job and cool the bulb.
So does anyone know how far away the hood should be from the plants???
I have a standard 400W HPS (not cooled) it is about 8-9 inches from the tops of my Lowryder's - just do the hand test.. if it's too uncomfortable for the back of your hand it will be too uncomfortable for your plants.. You could easily get the cooled hood 6 inches from the plants I reckon..test with your hand 1st though!
K sweet thanks man, so if heat isnt a problem the chart above suggested that 6 inches is best.
So does the glass get 6 inches away or the actual bulb?
