Difference in fan styles

I'm trying to purchase a duct fan, but I don't know the differences between these 3 styles. Which one should I choose?

This is the most common style I've been in seeing in other people's tents. 4 inch 190 CFM for $48, 6 inch 390 CFM for $60

There are also these very slim types, Vivosun, 4 inch 203 CFM; $48, 440 CFM 6 inch $72

I can't seem to find an explanation between Vivosun T series, G series, Z series etc.

A cheapo one with a speed controller from iPower, 4 inch, 195 CFM; $37

https://www.amazon.com/iPower-Inch-Inline-Duct-Ventilation-dp-B09M84Y7ZH/dp/B09M84Y7ZH

The price point is great but I have not seen anyone using this style of fan lately so I'm assuming this old technology?

Rather than the brand, I'm trying to understand the difference between these three fan styles and if I should opt in for a 6 inch one or 4 inch would be enough. Most guides indicate that I should go for 6 inch for a 48x48x78 but considering that I'm only going to put 3 plants (legal limit is 4 and I'll keep a mother for clones so 3 is my limit) I'm wondering if 4 inch would be enough. I'm inclined to go with 4 inch since I already have the 4 inch hose and clamps for it and I'm trying to keep the costs down as much as possible.

I'd appreciate any suggestions before I pull the trigger on these without missing Black Friday deals!

the first one is a turbine style. the other two are centrifugal, the turbine will give less sucction but be quieter 38 db vs 49 db you decide, i would go for a chap o and a really nice min max temp controller

Personally I would go with what ever the biggest fan you get get into your tent assuming you are using a tent. Larger means slower rpm for larger volume of air. combine that with an efficient larger fan you can move alot more air for less power and noise at the cost of more initial up front cost.

I would also shy away from this cheap crap its going to be loud, go with mid tear spiderfarmer vivio or ac infinity im partial to ac infinity .these brand have smart controllers that are beginner friendly.
but really its all personal preference I chose to go with all ac infinity stuff because it easy and good quality and i can control everything on an wifi app

the controller kiks up the fan when temps are above set temperature and then goes to minimum

You want to make your comparison based on CFM needs, power consumption, noise level, materials.
A lot of the Vivosun etc just seem cheap when you hold them in hand.
Terra-Bloom is another solid option.

I use a hydro farm 6” active air in-line fan with a thermostat control and no speed control. My first one i bought was 80 bucks then they went on sale for 60 bucks so I bought a spare. On Amazon they are 118 right now so I would wait for a sale on them.

i have had a few of the cheap ones that are great at first, but will crap out or just get loud after a couple of grows.
Make sure if you get a speed control, you get one made for your type of fan.

Vivosun fans are hit and miss. I have had three of the old school metal fans in 4" (middle link in the op). The first one I bought has been running flawlessly for at least four or five years. On 24/7 with a few shutdowns over the years, but basically on full time. The next two I purchased were junk, one made bearing noise after three days and the replacement fan made the same noise right out of the box. It seems like quality control is all over the place and you might get a great one or it might be junk out of the box.

The z4 model works well for smaller tents (<12'²) but the 49db is a bit louder then I would like since I run 3 or 5 at a time. I will definitely be upgrading to larger/quieter fans over the next few years.

Thanks a lot everyone! I went with AC Infinity's 6 inch cloud line (non pro version). It has a speed controller but I think it's not app controllable which is not too important for me. I will use it with a 48x48x78 tent and I thought it would be better to have a slightly larger fan rather than pushing the 4 inch one to the max speed all the time. Also AC Infinity didn't have a deal on 4 inch one but on the 6 inch one so it was going for the price of the 4 inch one so I took the deal and went with it. I think since I'll be keeping it in the bedroom, it's important to have a decent fan and not cheap out on it.

Thanks a lot again!
