Difference in These lights Plz Help b4 i buy

alright i done some research and found that i can get 150w HPS and Metal Halide that will fit a med socket base (regular household socket). What i dont know is 1. do these still have to have a ballast, 2. Are they pretty much the same light output as a mogul base setup, 3. has anyone ever heard of these before or did i just smoke wayyyy to much while i was looking for my new lights.

aight guys any input on this will be nice. Hopefully i can get these lights and they will for for me atm better than spending extra $ that i dont have.

i heard something about these, got any links?

Every Hps & MH light i know of needs some type of ballast, reguardless of socket type.

Yes, I think your talking about the reversable hps/MH ballast. I heard they don't last that long.

no i was under the impression that these HPS and MH lights run without a ballast just off of the socket... maybe im wrong :/ can someone clarify this for me if i am? i am posting links to the bulbs i found below

like i said i was under the impression that if its on a med socket (standard household light socket) it wouldnt need a ballast to operate.

you can't run hps or mh by pluging them in a regular socket.....you gotta have ballast and ignitor for sure. Cheers!!!

ty sir time to hit up ebay i guess :/ oh will a 250w HPS/MH setup work in a closet for 4-6 plants? if lined with mylar? pppwweeaase say yes if not im doomed before i start lol

for 3-4 not so big plants maybe....

yea imma keep them rather small 3ft is max

lol true realistically they will probably only be 2' at most hehe

The link you provided to the MH bulb says the warmth is 3000k. That seems odd, as if you could flower with it? Must be a typo...
