Different Clone Approach?

May sound silly but after applying rooting gel, set the cuttings in rockwool then I dip and coat them in Fox Farm soil without the paper wrap
and I seem to get a better success rate. This has worked with veg and flower cuttings.
Anyone have any thoughts on this unusual method?

no more details. this stemmed from a friend that here at my house took a
small branch off a POT plant dipped it in rooting gel and B1 Rooting hormone
and then stuck it in ff soil and it grew roots right away.
i tried this with clones and i did get a much better success rate then usual.
i will be going this route from now on. works great for me.
