Digital Ballast "Flickers" On 100% Setting, But Not 75%

Hey all. It's a China Ballast, 2 yrs old - Prodigy, 600watt. On 100% power setting it is "strobing" or "flickering". It's very intense flashing between white and red spectrum. Starts about 2-3 minutes after powering up.Tried 3 bulbs (all HPS) and same outcome. On 50% or 75% settings however, the bulb burns smooth with no strobe or flicker. Anyone have this problem before or have any ideas? Thanks.

Is your digital ballast controlled by a microprocessor? Digital is susceptible to heat and the heat could be causing the flicker (100% obviously more heat than 75%). I would just ad a 50 cent fan to the mix and see if that controlled it. If not you will have to replace the whole ballast.

Not sure about the microprocessor, but, it is running fine on 75%, so, looks like thats where it'll stay till i can replace it.

is this ballast a sealed type or does it have an exhaust fan on it? make sure the fan is running if it has one, and is the ballast very hot to the touch? are you sure the outlet it's plugged into has a good ground?

It is a sealed type with no fan. It's grounded properly(plugged into a power bar, but I've tried it in various outlets to see if the flicker would stop, with no luck). It doesn't run hot at all, barely warm to the touch.

Reverse hypo-connectors and dual flux capacitors work for everything. Might even want to throw in a mark IX quad dial suppressor on a ramshackle switch.
