You guys are all barking up various different wrong trees.
Obviously the glogreen is the go cos you can run a 400w bulbs on a 250w digi retro fit styles n similar step down scenarios for other wattages.
You can run cmh on them too.
They have some sort of patented algorithm shit. All other digi ballasts are old hat as of like 5 years ago since when these things came out. I just bought leds and now I'm realizing that instead of expensive leds I would have been better off staying hid now for power and expenses sake, though I think the quality is better with full spectrum led. Also, unless you live in a hot place you gonna need some heat so my solution is going to be a combination.
But back to the ballasts, the other awesome thing is they got 95% lumen maintenance for entire life of bulb so you can burn your hps on it for 70, 000 hrs still good as new.

What is a really funny thing is how these things have been out for such a long time now and not one single grower has one.
Why don't any Hydro shops stock them?
Although it seems that this product has been taken up by other industries that require illumination there are absolutely no grows using them on hydroponics sites. Not one indoor grower on the entire Internet has ever typed the words I use one of these and they are good. I guess this perpetuates the unnecessary fear that they must not be any good for some reason amongst the generally pessimistic collective consciousness of the grow community.
I fear that another 5 years may pass before a bleary eyed stoner plucks up the courage to give one of these a try in order to save energy and reduce carbon footprint. Lol
