That first one looks really good. I use the old pinned timers myself. We get power outages and they keep it close. Autos should flower under 24hr so dont need timer.

I don't have any need to do anything remote, I use HA primarily for the plotting and db storage of mqtt sensor data

Being accessible from the outside world is key for me. TBH for most of my home stuff I just use cron to launch various actions on the network.

Probably the reason you didn't have to open a port is because your google router is using an open port to connect and port forwarding is handled automatically when you add internal devices. If you have access to the internet then you have at least one open port.

I am not using a Google router. I am using reflashed Apple Airports.

Titan Controls. You can get a knockoff too for cheaper. But even the real ones are only like $20. I've had one of them going for 4 years and no issues. Even with long power outages. It's always kept it's clock and settings.

I have used vivosun digital timer with no issues other than self inflicted. They are easy to program and allow up to 24 on/off settings. The only thing with these type of timers they will not go down to the seconds only minutes but for lights and blowers that’s fine but for pumps you may want a better timer that can do seconds. It only takes 45 seconds to feed my coco plants but I just set it for a minute and get plenty of runoff that way.

I just got some new nearpow ones that will do down to the seconds for repeat cycles but they won’t do down to the seconds at multiple different times throughout the day.
If anyone know what type of timer will work for 30 seconds every 4hrs or whatever I program it for please let me know.

Ah you guys are great thanks for the help.

I've looked at amazon feedback for these and 17% give it 1 star. Not saying they aren't what you guys say it is, but it seems there's mixed experiences with them, and some people are saying even when the timer has switched off, there is still 120v running through it? Anyone know about that?
