I assume it's gonna be a bit colder in the winter ,.. but at the moment ,if I run both light the temperature gets way too hot,... is it still better to have more light and warmer room or less light colder room?

That's way to hot to be stabled out at. Thats the thing with HID lighting, if you cant manage the temps you need to go lower.

Stick with the 400w, when it gets colder you can throw in the extra 400

But different strains can handle temps better, and the strains in jamaica can handle the high temperatures.

You COULD grow at those temps but youll have alot of heat stress problems I'd imagine.

thx Sharkey, ... anybody else with experience with high temps? I Keep the light way away from the plant for now too, The lights are 18 inches away from the bottom of the screen and on the edge the bulb is 8inches away from the screen, I do not plan on moving the lights, I will let them strech for now, thats why I want to keep both light going.

30 celsius ambient , the soil remains at 15-25c tho , at the tops of the plants under a 400w it would reach 50c easily , thats not the case , if its too hot then go low , if u are on early flower and not too hot and await colds then go high

You can grow bud at your temps but the quality of the product will be lower. Heating issues are kinda easy to get over as long as you have the cash and tools. With Hid you weight in heat problems are square 1.

I am really disappointed at my fan blower, 190 cfm they claim... that's what I may have to do unfortunately, more money into it! I wish I would have bought the 6" right away... I just didnt think I would need more than 4" for the size of my room... maybe I did something wrong!

so what you guys would do if there was nothing else to do with the ventilation, 400W 24degrees or 800W 32degrees ? I am also thinking of running the extra light only 4hours twice a days ( my light is one 24/7 )
