UPDATE: alright so as I said before, 100% germination rate with all seeds (all 5 blue widow & both CH9 seeds) So all 7 seeds are in labeled cups filled with a mix of about 80% coco coir, 10% extra pearlite, and 10% happy frog. theyre all underneath the 125w cfl bullb and hood waiting to sprout & start their life! the 4 blue widow seeds that popped first sprouted this morning, i checked on them at 6:40am and nothing... checked again at 12:30pm and all 4 sprouts... took 6 hours haha. the other 3 seeds should be sprouted here tomorrow morning as they popped a little later. anyways, here goes the FUN PART! leave some love fellow farmers :)

the kangaroots & microbe brew work pretty good, you dont use them that much.. but for what you do use them, they're good. post some pics with a camera phone or something, thats what i do:).... my seedlings are growing VERY slow & its irritating the shit outa me. I've seen grow journals and watched videos where from seed they grow the 3rd node withink 2 weeks... i don't know what im doing wrong.

Dude you just gotta be patient, you cant go by other pictures or other people's journals cause you don't have the same set up

Ya :) its hard to be patient though you know? anyways I moved the light up because I think it was too close, now its probably 3 or 4 inches away. The growth has picked up quite a bit i believe. Ill post some pics here in an hour or so.

Day 7 since sprout on Halloween:

First pic is just of the temporary setup until they go under the HID. Second pic is of all 7 seedlings, the 3rd and 4th pics are of the CH9 Humboldt and Aroma. The 5th-9th pic are the Blue Widows and the 10th pic I have a question about. The media that the seedlings are in is a mix of coco coir, happy frog, and pearlite... there seems to be white mold growing on top of the coco coir mix. The white stuff that grows on dog shit after its been sitting in the yard for a long time.. any advice? Do I need to transplant into seed starting mix or what?

So after some research, I've found that the white fungus that's growing on top of the media is caused by water not drying out quick enough, and not enough air circulation. This kinda makes me angry because I've read great things about coco coir.. and how its great for drainage.. it even mixed pearlite with it.. and I end up with fungus.. shoulda went with seed starting mix. Oh well.. it's completely harmless to the plants apparently I'll just scrape it away and water less I suppose.

Does anyone wanna leave some love for a fellow farmer? I'd appreciate some feedback for all of you who are subbed in. Lemme know how I'm doing. Much appreciated ;)

in future always fill your cups to the very top. leaving the soil low in the cup promotes all sorts of problems like mould stem rot and other nasties as air doesnt want to circulate down there.

I'm interested in the light mover. I have some autoflowers sprouted just a day ahead of yours.

ya, i didnt really think about filling them up to the top. can i bury the stem and fill them up to the top? i don't know if that's an option as i foresee stem rot in that scenario. oh and i think only good things will come with the light mover.

Yes. Bury them up as far as you want...typically to the cotyledon. The stem will sprout new roots off it and be more stable for ya.

I'll sub and check out your show, I like the blue widow even though it's a little on the heavy side (indica) for me.

Cool, I really appreciate you subbin' in and checkin out the journal. I'm really looking for good feedback as this is my 3rd grow and the only one I've actually been real serious about. Thanks for the info on burying the stem too, that really helps me out as I was worried about the stretch that occurred initially. You're definitely welcome here buddy:) Leave some love.
