direct sunlight vs indirect sunlight

hey guys and gals i have a question.

if i put my plants in an area where they will only get 6hrs of direct sunlight, will they still do well? I can water them anytime but the problem is the fact they are surrounded by mature tress for the rest of the day.

cheers.

2 oz or 2 pounds? 2oz isnt a major amount of ganj for outdoor?
depending on the conditions of course,
im an indoor gardener myself so im not too sure of how it works,
hoping to do an outdoor next spring or something though
dnt mean to critisize or anything.

I can tell you from experience because where my house is, and I grew there last year, and did another small one here this year, gets about 6 ours direct a couple hours of indirect, and the rest shade. Don't try to grow Sativa or sayiva dom strains, they don't do well in those conditions. Something like GDP, Bubba Kush, things like that do well in those conditions. They will not yeild as much, but they will harden up good, and be just as potent (if not more so) than if they had full sun. The purpls strains did the best and that's all I'm gonna try to grow here next year if I'm still here. I am gonna be trying to move down closer to where my big grow is now.

On my last out side grow my plants at the peak light time only got around 7-8 hrs of direct sunlight and during the end of summer/begining of fall they were only getting around 4hrs of direct sunlight for most of the flower period with short periods of direct sunlight in between that. At the end my 7 plants did very well for all the sun light they got. I ended up yielding alittle over 3 oz per plant

2 oz not much by any means but for a winter grow with no direct sunlight a pretty decent yield, imagtaine putting 50% shadecloth in front of you hps and shielding you plant results would be understandably diminished.

Ed Rosenthal states in his handbook that you should aim for 5 or more hours of direct sunlight. Anything under 5 is not good, and the more over 5, the better.

kinda on the same subject but a little different i only have 2 girls and the forcast called for rain here so i put up a 10'x10' camping canopy over them to avoid mold and loosing branches cause of water weight canopy has an 8' center and slopes down to 6' around the edges both girls are about 6' tall its super sunny now but rain is still in the forcast till thurs some light comes through the canopy its pretty thin and all around the edges is open will it hurt my girls if i leave the canopy up for a few days without direct sunlight?? there a few weeks away from harvest oh and the canopy is a pos and a pain in the ass to take down and put back up and takes two people otherwise i would just do that just dont wanna mess with it if it wont hurt them for a few days :)

thanks
