Yessir... It's going to be a fun learning experience either way, this is the stuff very few people in the world understand, let alone get to play with
BTW, last night I put a healthier clone in my aerolife box (really it's the first decent one because the mother was in good shape). I took it from my hp cloner and it had developed a good looking rootstructure despite the fact my timer had failed a few times and let it dry out. I expect the roots will start exiting the netpot in the next day or so if I can keep the rockwool the proper amount of moistness (that's really been something hard for me to do for some reason)... I think after this I'm going to do like Atomizer and cut out a small hole in the middle of the bottom of my netpots, but leave some splines to catch the rockwool. This way I'll start leaving longer stems on my clones which will stick out the bottom of the netpot with a few roots that I can keep an eye on even before the rest poke out through the sides of the netpot and rockwool chunks. Oh yeah, and there was a rather good sized cockroach living in my aerolife chamber and who knows what it was doing to the roots down there, lol... (Obviously I removed it!) I was having some issues with my plants in the aerolife where the roots were browning and I suspect root-rot from a week I didn't add bleach. The chamber had a musty smell and the roots didn't look happy. Once I noticed, I started adding the bleach again, and it smells fine now, but the roots have never really took off again. I started thinking that the outsode of the netpots was being protected with the bleach, but the inner rockwool was probably still harboring the pythium (if that's what it was). Wish me luck and I'll keep the thread updated if I make any progress...
