Discoloured cotyledons! help!

Hey guys, this is my first grow so bare with me, and thanks in advance. My seedling has been planted in soil for about 10 days now and i've got a few concerns. The seedling has stretched a bit (i have since then moved my lights closer) but now the cotyledons are turning a little yellow, and do not look healthy. also the 2 other leaves that have sprouted also don't appear healthy.. at first i thought i may have been over watering, so i haven't watered in about a day and a half but they still have not perked up. they are a faint green colour and are now starting to curl in. I'm using 2 23w CFL's each equivalent to 100w for a total of 200w, and they hang roughly an Inch or two from the tops of my babies. I also have a fan about 10 inches from the tops of the plants just to circulate air..any input or advice to my problem would be greatly appreciated.

You alright mate. Just don't over water as its the most common mistake in new growers. let the soil get completely dry between waterings.

Your CFL's are only 23 true watts, so your not using 200w. Typical misconception. For now the light is ok, but in a 2 weeks or so i'd make sure to add more lighting.

Don't feed until at least the third week. and try not to touch or look at them TOO much, lol i know its hard, but they are plants, let them be.

Also get rid of that aluminum foil i believe i see, it creates hot spots and does not reflect any light. White walls would be better, or mylar.

Take care

CFL is good for little seedlings as a start ! I personally get one or two cfl for each one ! I don't know, the light you been using is maybe not close enough (you shouldnt be afraid of approaching the lights from the plants , I leave one Inch between them but not closer) !
What kinda soil you using ? And I think the pots contain no holes in the bottom !

Thanks for the advice guys, but do you think the biggest of the 4 look alright though? it seems small in comparison to some of the other 2 week plants i've seen online, but i know there's a lot of variables at play. I'm just worried that maybe its not growing to its full potential. as of right now i'll limit my watering and just spray every so often, also the lights are about 1 inch from each plant because i've read CFL's lose their output after about 6 inches. To respond to FJG i know they're 23watt, but each is equivalent to 100w in terms of lumens i believe despite them only being 46 true watts, however i'm sure you know more about the subject than myself.

how crucial is drainage? you're right i don't have holes.. (i'll do that tonight) does it affect growth speed? maybe my roots are too saturated!

Experience tells me that too much watering make growing slow ! Make holes ! 3 or 4 for each pot !!
Don't water again only if you put a finger deep in soil and notice it's dry ! Cheers ! :leaf:

you think it's doomed? i'll do what you recommended (holes, less water, etc) and post some update photos in a few days, thanks for the help!

Little bit of an update, the three remaining plants are doing well, two seem to be growing much shorter and fuller, the third isn't growing so quickly but still looks good. all three are the same age however the two are roughly 2.5x the size.. I'll post some pictures soon but what do you think?
