Discrimination against MMJ users

Just a thought. People are always talking about this that and everything else about MMJ.
Example how impaired MMJ users are at work.... I smoke and eat cannabis everyday and I have no problem functioning at work in fact I have had compliments on how quick and efficient I am at my job. Then there's the smell.... oh no not the smell!!! This is the most ridiculous fucking thing I have heard!!! It's a smell! You can't stop a farmer from cleaning his cattle corral because it smells but you want a persons quality of life to suffer because of the smell from there meds aka growing, smoking, vaping hell just being on there person.

There are Lots of other discriminatory things MMJ patients have been put through by government, law enforcement, HC , employers etc

So if anyone would like to share there story of discrimination or any ideas or comments on how we could end the MMJ discrimination. Please discuss

I've been put through a lot more as a rec user than a MMJ patient. As a MMJ patient it's been smooth sailing. But I always worked for myself and had no employer to deal with.

I feel ya hippy, me too. But that would be a different thread about the bs lie of the Nixon party when they had just about every country sign of that cannabis was a schedual 1 narcotic. Which it is not.

I was thinking more along the lines of patients having to send there name address and picture to get a prescription... What other prescription does a person have to request permission from health Canada, tell the government where and how there medication will be stored etc.
not to mention the letters telling addresses and threating inprisonment for not complinng. Talk about criminalizing citizens!! Anyways rant over

I think you've heard my story before. I am technically a volunteer..I get free rent. After I was 'found out' I was told to come up with a temporary 'mmj policy' to ensure the safety of everyone from the killer weed. Everything is already covered in their drug and alcohol policy, but that wasn't good enough. It mostly comes down to the smell and the terrible horrors that will befell anyone who gets a whiff. This is what I came up with and what I signed...clearly discriminatory, but what can I do? I'll keep it for leverage at another date, should I need it

Schedule “C” - Policy Regarding the use of Medical Marijuana by the Caretaker at XXX

I __________________ (insert name) am authorized by my doctor and Health Canada to use marijuana for medical purposes. I will provide a digital copy of the A.T.P. with this email, as well as a photocopy by post for your records. Please note; due to a court injunction, Health Canada will no longer renew my license when it expires, but it remains in effect until the Supreme Court decision in February 2015.

As Caretaker at XXX, I am committed to helping provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the youth and other users of the camp. I understand the difficulties that can arise when you try to balance my choice of medicine, and the stigma attached to it, with our primary goal of serving the youth. I will work with XXX to ensure we reach a solution that works for everyone.

I have written some guidelines I agree to abide by that I hope address most of your concerns.

  • I will keep all medication (medical marijuana) securely stored in my home, and will not permit any youth/adult to have access to it

  • I will not use marijuana anywhere where it may be seen or detected by a youth or adult

  • I will not smoke (use) marijuana in any building owned by XXX or on the property

  • I have recently purchased a vaporizer that produces no odors, and I will utilize that as much as possible while youth and adults are using the camp.

I agree to the above conditions.

I once had a boss ask me why i smelled like i pot.
I told him probably cus i just burned one down so i didnt tell u to go fuck yourself and walked away.
He laughed and said i should have asked my co worker for some perks so the parking lot didnt stink.

I shook my head and walked away.

Things are going good now. It was a couple of assholes with a personal issue and thought it was a way to get rid of me. When it got to the national level, they had no fucking clue...hence telling me to draft something. The assholes are gone, and I am well liked otherwise. It's a good gig.
