How Do You Feel About "Sin Tax" ?

Not at all why should I be taxed higher just because other beleive its wrong or should be taxed higher. I live in one of the highest taxed city in the states actual I think it is the highest now(IL).

Archaic christian or conservative values should not be propogated towards tax, although I will agree with it if it carrys a health risk, I think food with MSG and unhealthy choices and soda should be taxed, I myself am a bastard who drinks loads of soda and MSG food, but I think it should be taxed, Higher prices due to tax can start making us move in the right direction,like with fuel.

Tax the booze tax the tobacco, free the weed :)

my area does it, fing ridiculous, so now we also pay additional tax to support the stadiums that WE CANT SMOKE IN wtf

IMHO the so called "sin tax" actually hurts the "working joe" harder than anyone.. The ones that live from paycheck to paycheck. I think its totally unfair to tax cigs and alcohol at the preverted rate they are doing.. Cigs are almost $60.00 a carton and $7.00 a pack... I say its BS... Instead of a "sin tax", I think the better option would be a "luxury tax" that taxes luxury items like luxury cars, homes over a million dollars, yachts,boats, jewelry and all other "luxruy items" that no one needs but rich ppl cant live without.. People that can afford those items deserve to pay higher taxes.. Not people who can barely make ends meet.

I see more overweight people than anything, Just plain sad. I smoke and drink beer don't tax that I like it and I'm not poor, I'm not overwight and work hard,,I say tax the corparate death burgers and Bells and whatever, They have more money than me. I won't die if one of the 7 McDonalds close, in my little city, But I may have to grow my own and brew my own in order to pay less tax,,Ha,,Na I just keep on smoking whatever, The money is there if you want it and no matter what there going to take it, It's nothing really new In American History. The day's of the real tea paties are over, way to much power in play in every aspect of the word.

I think fattening food should be taxed to! I do think they've gone crazy on the cig taxes even though I don't smoke or like it..I mean they already limited where people can smoke in my area anyways why tax them for wanting to smoke at home? The thing about taxing rich people makes me mad though they already pay half of what they make into taxes!! People shouldn't be punished b/c they do well! I'm poor and can say that! Mostly I think fast food and fattening food should be taxed if we are talking about what hurts people being fat and eating like shit does! And costs the "govt" more money then anything else!More so then smoking or alcohol! The only thing about alcohol is drinking and driving which I can't stand but if someone wants to really drink they are going to weather you tax it or not! Its all a big money game for the gov't anyways.

Taxes should not be levied to punish behaviors.

It is amazing to hear people supporting new taxes for the purpose of punishment.

people should be able to put whatever they want into their body.
all drugs should be legal.
all substances and foods should be legal.
problems would happen less if the truth was told
and not hidden

If a person makes over $375,000 they pay 35 percent in taxes on that then, sales tax, then property tax, dealership tax, ect so yes they do end up paying over 50 percent in taxes its rather sick actually! All of us are taxed though its life bongsmilie
