Quoted for posterity.
But let's keep it in perspective, and to illustrate how deep you are....
It was the standoff at the Alamo and the Texians who died there that spurred the enlistment to the Texian army, who then defeated the Mexican Army two months later and ended the revolution.
Or were you ever so coyly trying to allude that violence and/or death would be the result of what you describe as a Mexican Standoff between the dispensary/club/market owners/patients and law enforcement.
ok
I am aware of the battle of the Alamo and what it stood for and what the result was, both at the battle and afterwards. This is not about the Texas Revolution, it is about the analogy being used in the face of a ruling that we don't like but are stuck with.
The point I am seeing is that the Supreme Court has ruled and we are already seeing things in the works from the AG designed to a/ shut down the dispensaries now that they have the ruling and b/ generate negative press about cannabis.
Let's add c/ as well, damage the infrastructure around cannabis, like arresting physicians signing certifications and putting the fear of God into doctors by making felony level criminal charges against them. The desired result is no more certifications being signed. That to me is the more serious fight, as the loss of dispensaries still leaves the self growing patient and caregiver, whereas loss of the doctors stops the process cold.
We have a rule of law in this country. The court, agree or not, has ruled and has the final word on the state level. I hope no one is foolish enough to consider taking it to the federal level which could put the entire act before a federal judge. We have been lucky so far on that front. But if we do, we could lose the entire act as quickly as we lost dispensaries.
Dispensaries that stay open are not going to be viewed as doing it for the patients, they will be viewed as doing it for themselves and their $20/gm meds. And the law says they will lose that fight. Enforcement is starting with cease and desist orders going out, followed by handcuffs for those that don't comply. While some publications will hold them out as brave souls fighting for patients, many in the mainstream media will not.
The loss of dispensaries MAY result over time in a new bill making it through the process. There are many that oppose that bill in powerful positions in the capital. I for one am rather sensitive about giving them anything they can use as examples of the 'misuse' of the 'voter's intent' as a way to block any real legislation designed to address the issues and preserve home growing/caregivers.

Deep enough for ya?
Yes, it is just an opinion, but I have a pretty good track record with my opinions. Take it for what you wish.
