My wife and I have been seriously entertaining the idea of growing for dispensaries. I have seen several websites offering consulting services ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Below is one of the ads that I have found. Has anybody here done or signed up for anything like this? How does it work? What was/is your experience? Was it profitable?

i wouldn't do that. i bet its just a rip off. are you already grow? what kind of set up do u use if any? the way i sell to dispensary is you go in to the place you want to sell to ask them how do i become a vendor for this place and they will tell u. for most place the way it goes is. you grow you stuff dry it and take it to the dispensary,when u walk in tell the guy in the front your a vendor and they will take u in the back and check your stuff out. the same goes for selling clones, the only thing diff about clones in that they will want to keep them for three or four day to see if they live.

get legal, grow buds, take your overages to any dispensary and sell that shit.

you do not need someone to give you a licence to deliver it. its your right as a caregiver/patient.
and all those classes and shit are a waste. learn everything you need here. i did and i have a very green thumb.

But what about the ability to grow up to 99 plants? Would I need to obtain a special license to do that? My wife and I are both patients and under Sacramento, Ca law together we would only be able to grow a total of 12 mature and 24 immature plants (6 mature and 12 immature individually). So would I have to start a Non Profit 501c3 Collective and obtain patients and act as their primary caregiver?

ouch, you got me now im not sure. in michigan we can have 12 mature per patient x 5 patients = 60 plants.

you would have to move up north to be able to grow that much. check out the county link out again. plus just heads up most dispensary will not buy more then 1lbs or 2lbs at one time.
i would learn as much as u can about growing..unless u all ready know how to grow. Just grow the best weed u can and try and sell it for as much as u can.

so the way that would work best is to grow 12 plants and have clone or seeds ready to go in the bloom room as soon as u harvest the first 12 plants.

Thanks for the input skate4bud!! But I believe if I started a non-profit collective (not a brick and mortar dispensary) and gathered a minimum 17 patients to join the collective at 6 plants per patient multiplied by 17 (number of patients) equals 102 plants. Of course I would keep it at 99 plants to keep the feds off my back....i hope! Not to mention each patient is allowed 12 immature plants. So I should be able to have another 99 plants in veg waiting to be transferred to the flowering room after I harvest the 1st 99 plants. I think its time to consult an attorney and get this ball rolling. BTW....I will be using the you tube link you suggested to harvest every 2-3 weeks.

How To Set Up Your Commercial Grow

When you start your commercial grow, how do you cover yourself so that you can begin growing a decent amount of inventory while still keeping in compliance with medical marijuana patient ratios.

If you're not familiar with Senate Bill 420 in California, it states that patients may possess up to 6 mature plants and 8 ounces of dried marijuana unless their doctor recommends more. Patient ratios are similar in other states. This can lead to constraints for anyone starting a medical marijuana business. There are several strategies for dealing with this.

One is to find as many patients as you can to sign your membership agreement. The more family and friends you have that are patients, the better in this case because you can get them to do this quickly. In the case of California, if you had six patients sign your agreement, then you could possess up to 36 flowering plants; that's not including yourself and we're assuming you're not a complete idiot and have become a patient yourself by this point.

Another strategy, is to work with those that are primary caregivers already who'll already have a higher limit because you'll be able to grow for them and you could make the argument, for their patients as well. Another strategy is to find patients with doctors recommendations that are already high, for example, they have approval for 99 plants in writing. Since you should never go over 99 plants anyways because of federal mandatory minimums as a general rule, you can get this one patient and you're set.

The last strategy is to get another medical marijuana business to sign your membership agreement or an agreement that you may cultivate plants for them and their patients. Since they'll already have patients, you could become their primary caregiver or they could join your collective (if you're in California). The end result is to have something in writing from the business showing your relationship so that you may be able to present it later if you're ever in the position of needing to prove it.

We are going after permits in New Jersey, California and Arizona. From reading the posts above I don't think the posters have a grasp as to what is involved. We contacted cannbe, which is the consulting firm from Harborside. They wanted $250,000 and 6% overall. We looked at law firms, but they can't offer much help in proposal writing. We then got a better deal over dispensarypermits.com. You basically get a location and the capital together and dispensarypermits writes the RFA response. While parts of the RFA we could answer ourselves, most of it requires an engineer, architect, and someone with a PhD in product testing and gas chromatography to write a decent proposal. Anyway if you want a permit I'd suggest finding a consulting firm with a dozen experts to write the proposal. There's only so many permits available and the people with the best chance will have a professional proposal, that's what I know, and I've been researching this for months.

How do these dispensarys pay you. Ive heard where they take a couple of lbs from you & you have to wait until they sell it off then they pay you. Can anyone tell me the methods of payment dispensers go by.

In Sacramento you can just walk into a club with your products and sell them, although it might be wise to develop a relationship with the owner or manager first.

You are still limited in plant count unless you become a caregiver...but be careful with this. You can become a primary caregiver to others and grow for them, but you need to provide other care-giving services as well in order for the contract to stand up in court.

You cannot simply sign a form and grow plants for someone.

Well you can do that...but it's illegal technically. Be careful. Stay under 100.

isn't dispensarypermits.com the company owned by your Boss Dhar Mann? What experience do they have in obtaining permits, it is my understanding they haven't successfully obtained permits anywhere.

I first met with Dhar Mann and Sara before my original post on this quite awhile ago. Since then I've spoken to a good reference and they have been helping out a lot. Now my fear is NJ, DC and Delaware will never see any dispensary meds, not to mention Arizona. I'm trying for DC anyone else entered?
