diy ballast

so i found on the net how to build your own MH ballast and your own HPS ballast but couldnt find a how to build a switchable ballast...ne help would be grt..low budget thats why ima build my own

got one..jus like to save money if possible

find out the differences in the way they are wired... if they are very different... just make 2 separate ballasts. if there is only one component that is different between the two, wire both components in as the wiring diagram says... and put a switch between them so only one component operates at a time. I really think youd be better off just building one of each... especially if youre talking about those ballast kits that are about 30 bucks. if thats what youre talking about then for sure get one of each

the only diff between a MH and a HPS is the HPS has a igniter..both have a transformer and capiciter..so if i use 400 watt for both on one ballast i get lost cuz u dont need the igniter for the MH
