Um so I have a 10 gal tub for this diy system, how many gallons of water should I use?? Also how do I get the seeds started? Do I germinate them and then put them in the rockwool or let them germinate in the rockwool cubes??

germinate the seeds then put them in the rockwool cubes..I would fill up to 8 gallons or so..It should be at the bottom of the net cup i think.Someone could correct me if im wrong tho..

you have net cups rite? well the water should be touchin the bottoms of them at all times, i mean, its not a big deal if it gets low and doesnt touch tho. so alls good. and the seeds, you can do it either way but the thing about rockwool is that it has a ph i believe either 5.5 or 7.5 so its pretty high, you are gonna want to soak it in some ph'd water 6.0 is what you should aim for in hydro. really 5.8 but thats if you have a ph meter, another thing u should get if u dont.

I got ph testing kit with solution to raise and lower the ph and yes i have net cups but havent cut holes in the top of the tub for them yet, they are 3.75in cups what size hole should i cut? I dont want it to be cut to big where they fall through lol.

I would use the bottom of the net cup place it on the top and marker it so you can cut it exactly to the point u need it at..

yea that is what i thought but the cup gets bigger wider to the top, so how deep should the cup fit in the top?

It should go to the rim.. just cut it a little wider so the net cup could sit tight without falling thru..

do this, trace the net cup on the lid, then subtract about 1/8 inch off that, should be good.
