welcome to the COB star chamber.very few growers are using DIY lights of any kind.I have seen great grows with HIDs, T5HOs and CFLs. I tried DIY cobs ( cree3070,vero18 and citizens clu721-1206) and went back to my T5HOs .yield and quality was much lower with the COBs. I consider RM3 and a few others here to be "real growers". try to sell LEDs to commercial green houses.those folks know how to grow plants.the local hydro shops do not sell LEDs. most of their customers are commercial growers and LECs are their best selling light with HPS following a close second. if you want to know what"everyone is doing" talk to the folks at greenhouse supply companies, garden centers and hydro shops.most of our current genetics were developed under HPS lights.the first dispensary in nevada switched from HPS to 3 band LEDs and quality dropped noticeably. some of the folks that work at that dispensary have MMJ cards and grow their own medicine instead of getting it from their employer.
mexican dirt weed taste great to someone who has never had anything better. in the 70's we thought $10 an ounce weed from Mexico was great
actually I grow with T5s. and I have tried LEDS and was not impressed. this sounds a little like the cheating husband that asks his wife "are you going to believe me or your lying eyes"
enjoy your cob herb that will turn to dust in a month from lack of any real resin quantity or quality but everything has its place putit next to the natural lights beer and usa gold cigs

T5s are garbage. Get a real lamp.
