DIY Distiller for recovering Ethanol from QWET

I have seen a ton of pressure cooker setups. It that a good place to start?
I feel like i am going to distill off the ethanol while it's in some sort of glass dish or jar possibly, then after the ethanol has been distilled off i can use some ethanol to rinse the oil out of the jar and filter once more before evaping/distilling and scraping/collecting the oil.
But why initially distill in a glass jar when i can easily rinse out the pressure cooker just fine eh. Would i need a SS pressure cooker if i planned rinsing it with ethanol to collect the oil or scrape it?
Would it be wise to dial in a griddle to around 190F or so and just place pressure cooker on that, or would an oil bath be wise?

So far i plan to find a pressure cooker, adapt copper tubing in place of regulator. Run tubing down, coiled through either ice or a continuously refreshed cold water bath by running water from the sink. The condensing method will depend on my location and how i feel like building the design; whether i decide to use the stove top or use a griddle near by the sink.

Just wanted to throw this out there and see who bites...just don't bite too hard :P

I'll be checking in the morning before going to buy shit...seems fairly straight forward but if anybody has some WARNINGS or tricks to make it more simple LMK!

We recover about 90% of our alcohol using a simple DIY pot still, which I whomped up out of an All Clad asparagus steamer pot. I made an ice water condenser out of a stainless mixing bowl with copper coil inside, and linked the two using a neoprene fuel hose.

You can use a Lil Terp butane tank for the boiler as well.

After recovering 90% of the ethanol in a still, we boil the last 10% off to atmosphere, so that we can watch to see what is going on.

Knew i could count you Fadedawg. I hope you get paid for all the work you do! or reap something man!!! I know it's not just you so i thank all of you!

I'm seriously debating starting with a lil terp pot. i don't currently have the money to invest in the whole lil terp setup but maybe i can start distilling ethanol then eventually be able to recover my butane as well.
I plan on coiling the copper tube it doesn't touch itself, just slightly more efficient at condensing. But i see you have quite a bit of tube in that bowl. Think all that is necessary? I was going to shoot for half that much coiled.
...so i how do you know when you get to 90% of the ethanol recovered? just by knowing how much you use for the extraction, and when 90% of that's recovered you just remove the lid to the asparagus steamer?

yes, the more tubing/chilling, the better. there is a lot of heat hitting that ice water.

its a way to recover the alcohol and re use it I believe.. leaving behind only honey oil, with 10% alcohol left he said which he then throws in the vac chamber.

pretty neat little set up. same concept as steam condensing on something, then dripping off... except this is all controlled and weer capturing all that steam/vapor.
 
So i'm about to head out to buy the equipment. Probably end up with a pressure cooker, but w/e i find it's gonna be SS.
 
you do realize that buying a pressure cooker after that boston thing is kinda sketchy nowadays and you will almost be placed on a fuckin watch list depending on where you live haha....

i'm not going to hold my breath, if you hadn't mentioned that i wouldn't have even known a pressure cooker was used in the boston bombing. now you're just making me think about it too much haha...

Condensing portion of the distiller. 6ft of tube...might need more but not like i can't add more...just didn't want to over do it and spend more money than necessary.

Spring clamps lol wow lots of them too....but that might be a good way to go because my current clamping system just isn't quite convenient. i just need to replace my carriage bolts with a hook bolt...that way the hook will catch the handles and then i can use the wing nuts to tighten down.

Bond condenser??? Just wrap the whole bond in tube that's circulating iced water. I'm going to use my garden hose and wrap it around...give it a shot. But i am debating getting some other thin walled clear tubing for quicker energy transfer between glass/tube/water.
Place a bottle in the top of the bong and fill it with ice, the system will be under slight pressure in this setup but the bottle can pop up and release pressure. If i buy some copper tubing/ss tubing and make the column much taller i wouldn't have to have the bottle on top and i'm sure the vapors would cool before escaping.
It's a day-dream in progress lol

I'm going to try my original design with the frozen condenser today...with ethanol how that i have fuel line.
