Hey guys I decided to implement a screen into my garden and while I was building it figured I'd take some pictures and show you how I built mine at home for 30 bucks!! My scale model is 36x24
The materials you're gonna need are
1 Power Drill
1 pack of 3/4" screws
2 pieces of 2 inch PVC pipe cut to 36 inches each
6 pieces of 2 inch PVC pipe cut to 24 inches each
1 Pack of Nylon string (6 ft)
4 Elbow connectors that connect into a T
All this stuff cost me about 40 bucks with the PVC cutter included so if you cut your own it's about 30 bucks!
Now that you have your materials let's connect all of the pieces together to make a nice 36x24 frame for our screen. using two 36 inch pieces for the width, two 24 inch pieces for the length, and four 24 inch pieces for our legs.
once that is nice and put together the next step is to draw out where you want to tie your strings down to. I used 3 inches apart for mine. use a sharpie to mark where to drill!
drill screws into these holes giving you an anchor to tie the string to
The next step is to repeat on all 4 sides until you have an even amount of screws on each side! Then begin to make your knots. Make sure they are tied TIGHT around these screws you don't want any room for the plants to wiggle and bend themselves back up!
I tie knots around my screws and then screw the string in even more.
When your all done with one direction it should look similar to this. ( I tied mine so tight it pulled on the pipes, someone who has better skills would do a better job)
Begin pulling the string the opposite way and weaving over and under each loop until you have a nice square pattern like so. (once again making sure it's very tight) and repeat
When you're all done you should have something like this! A nice cheap effective screen for your scrog! Took about 30 minutes total to make
place over your plants and enjoy!!
