diy grow tent help

okay this is the thing i cant find a tent to fit my space just right so im gonna make one out of pvc and panda film gonna use 1/2" pipe light will be hanging from the ceiling so i figured the tent dosent need to be to strong just need to know if this much film will cover roughly a 3x3x6 area or would i need more to cover the whole thing

you could make 3 rooms that size out of that if just doing the walls.

ill be covering all sides plus the top and bottom just gonna poke my ceiling hooks through the plastic gotta have a sealed room because ill be running a carbon filter how much would i need to cover it ill buy less if i can would a 10x10 sheet do it

Not quite, if you have to order it go ahead and get extra. That way you have some on hand if you need just a little for something.

The sheet you want is 10x25 or 250 square feet. Your tent will be 3x3x6. That is 4 sides of 3x6 or 18 square feet(x4) for a total of 72 square feet. The top and bottom are 3x3 each which is 9 square feet for a total of 18 square feet. Add the sides, top and bottom and you should have 90 square feet. You could build two with that. If you can find a 10x10 sheet, that would be enough. Hope everyone enjoyed the math lesson. Good luck!

Good thing you own it and have someone else to do the calculations for you, cuz we're not shingling the damn thing and I don't think he wants to be taping a bunch of scraps together to try to piecemeal the damn thing with several seams. Yes, he has enough square footage, but I doubt he wants to use 2 rolls of duct tape to hold a bunch of pieces together. To go all the way around it he needs a 12' long piece-NOT 10' (3+3+3+3=12!!). Sorry, but just you can do a little math to determine square footage (so can most anyone) doesn't mean I gave bad info, you tried to correct me with bad info because it isn't practical.

However, OP, if your tight on cash and don't mind spending an extra hour or so taping pieces together (and an have an extra roll or so of duct tape) then joe blow greenthumb is correct in that you have enough square footage in a 10x10 piece to do it. Just don't whatever you do cut any pieces wrong or your fucked!!!

If you put a little thought into the shape before you cut then you'll have one side with any seams. There is your access side.

The sqft of 10'*10'=100'. So the room is a 100sqft. u need 40 linear feet for the bottom and top=80'.
Each wall is 8' tall, studs every 2'=30@8', there is extra. each wall will be 80sqft 4 walls=320sqft of wall space. Use to be a framer!

Never heard that. I've seen a lot of flood/drain systems made from pvc.

This is so far off if you're using the 3x3x6 dimensions that original post states.

Just make sure when laying out and marking that you add an inch for the corners.

alright i orderd the 10x25 ft panda film now just to figure out how much pvc to buy and how to put it all 2gether wish i had the shit right in front of me its hard for me to do it im my head but if it was in front of me i would have no prob i do things better hands on thanks for the help joe blow

...just buy the whole roll man, for that price AND with free shipping you can't go wrong, ...and that panda shit is handy to have around.

...and you should consider using wood as your framing material, not all pvc is the same and some kinds do offgas and can kill your plants, primed wood on the other hand you can know is safe right out of the box, as it were.

I use an under current dwc system with pvc pipes and never had an issue
