Paper, cardboard, sponges, pumice stones, untreated wood, and cork are a few examples of porous materials.

Varnished wood is non porous. 1 layer of my 6 ply is thicker than your cardboard.

But do you understand it ?
Now you just are saying you will varnish - so VOC gas off wont be an issue with buds ? Sounds killer.

Varnish will not Pentatrate 1/4 in. And I might not even do it. Doesn't need it

Yes its expensive.

I might have used cedar which is even more but has anti fungal and microbial properties as well as repels bugs ... not sure how that could effect the smell though
