DIY hydro help

:clap:So, I want to take the plunge, so to speak, and move from soil to hydro. Soil is riddled with pest problems, mold problems, oxygen problems and nutrition problems. The more R+D I do, the more I see that the basic premise behind hydro is just that, basic. Flowing water, oxygenated water, aerosoled water, ebbing water and dripping water all mean the same thing, finding the balance between hydration and oxygenation. The nutes are a little overwhelming, as is determining the limits of all the various hydro setups. SO I have a few questions.

What system (DWC, E+F,Aero,Film,Drip...etc) is going to be the most forgiving to grow with?

My grow space is CONFINED, what system is going to allow for the lowest profile(height) root container(2-3 plants possible in a 12 inch high 1.5 foot wide 1.5 foot root container)? The resevoir would be outside of the grow space.

Which system is gonna be the easiest (and cheapest) to build?

I suspect the nute levels and ph balancing will be learned through trial and error, but the fundmental question remains: ORGANIC OR CHEM FOR FIRST TIME HYDRO?

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY LINKS FOR DIY GUIDES? I HAVE SEEN A FEW ON HERE FOR HYDRO AND AERO, BUT NOTHING BUILT TO GO INTO A GROW BOX!

Thanks to the community for providing such friendly and succint advice!:weed:

I have the same space constraints. I tried soil and just couldn't get the results. I use the hempy bucket/cup method. It is darn simple. And I find the nutes to be easier b/c you know exactly what is going in and out. The only pain in the ass is monitoring the pH.

do you have a link to some info for me on your setup? If not, how tall is the bucket you use to house the hempy cup?

i would say, ebb and flow system with hydroton in a single tote, would be relatively cheap, you'll need tote, res rocks pump and timer. hydro ferts are mostly chemical and i suggest you grow with these.
