Rad looking bitch!

I know right!!

Hey AP, sometimes there are a few sneaky bananas hiding here and there. Although it usually takes 2-3 weeks of flowering for them to start dropping pollen and that bean seems too mature to have been pollinated by that same batch?
I was blown away at how mature it was... I plucked it out real gently with some facial hair tweezers and it turned blackish/tigerish after a day of lightless storage. I can't wait to start breeding my own strains!!!

How long does pollen, from either a hermi or male, last for?

It looks soo fluffly, not like fluffy, but, like i don't know - weed from tale land...
Lol yeah it really does!! Haha weed tale land :lol:

Just a little something for those out wandering about the threads...

can you get a snap with a coke can or something ? am I right in thinking your top buds are around the size of your light timer now ? Pretty nice dude pretty nice, I know most people like to go led or hid but have you considered adding a 30w or 70w mh light ever ? you can get them in all kinds of k ratings and the bulbs are under £3 it`s just as easy as making led stuff if not easier but I guess that there is a fire risk and I like how leds can just be turned on and off quickly hid`s seem to like to not like to be restarted till they cool a bit

I'm curious as to why your V18's pull around 28v. Mine seem to pull 32v, though I'd rather they be around 28v which is what my driver is rated for.
As far as I know BON, each COB of a given series, such as a V18, operates slightly different. My guess is that because the driver, connected to the COB, runs at lower current (amperage), that the voltage doesn't run so hot. I think the higher the amperage, the higher the potential (voltage). I could be wrong about this though, as my experience with COBs is fairly new.

What current are you running your VERO 18's?

I can totally do that when the time comes KON. The main buds, if you could make them into a square, would come close to the size of the pictured timers (maybe a little more or less).

I've only grown with the Sun and LEDs. I used T5's for like a week and switched em' out for LEDs. I just like LED's a whole bunch, even more now since I know about COBs.

When I set my driver to run at .7 amps, that's when I checked it. Maybe I tested it wrong though. I checked it by the leads on the solder pads which aren't being used. Surprised me cause the stats say they run at 29v. I have the 4000k as well.

Yeah cob leds are pretty cool even the ones that just plug into a light bulb socket can make some nice plants

I just like the idea of how cheap and easy it would be to change the spectrum of a 70w mh, say you did a 100w to 300w cob set up in 3000k you could add 1 to 4 70w cmh`s to it to veg use 5000k or even 10,000k cmh bulbs and swap them out with 3000k or 4000k lamps later you could even do some crazy staggered turn on turn off with the lights to shift when they were getting what and you could have a fail safe that shuts off the mh`s if the heat at the plants level gets too high

I still like leds best for tight spaces but sometimes cfl`s are easier to get hold of and they veg well, a 600w mh does give off more heat then my 2 x 300w led lights do and the 600 is in a cool tube so I can see why some people can`t use them in the summer or at all lol

So I chopped the berry tree down the other day...

While examining one of the lower branches, I found a little pollen sack between one of the shoots. Near it lay spread out what appeared to be some yellow heroine (really just pollen).

I was a little disturbed by this at first but was later comforted by the fact that the rest of the plant did NOT possess any more sacks and looked relatively healthy. I came across a few seeds (like three) across the entire plant after manicuring the branches.

Looking back, I'm shocked to see how well she progressed through flowering as I really gave her hell :fire:. Between introducing LST, high heat (~89 degrees fahrenheit), and a few cases of light leak (all of which occurred during the beginning weeks of budding), it's no mystery why she would grow a few nanners' and push out a few seeds.

All in all, this was the most complicated grow I've ever experienced, with so much taking place that I'm surprised that it worked out as well as it did. Between building COB fixtures and learning all about growing in a tent, with the addition of unique methods such as using infrared, I can say I've truly become a better growman.

(Results are on their way)

While using 2x VERO 18 COBs (each ~30W each) and 1x 240W BlackStar V2 (actual draw ~135W) throughout flowering and without considering the supplemental CFLs (they were hardly ever on due to small space/temperature issues), total wattage used daily was around 195 watts on the lady. To reach the golden 1 gram per watt goal, I'd need to end up with around 7 ounces of dry weight.

Without knowing how fluffy or dense the buds are and going strictly off of what you see in the photographs, I'd like to see some guesstimates on total dry weight from y'all !!! The soul with the closest estimate wins something uber cool !! (I'll think of something in the meantime)

did you use heat paste on the back of the cob ?

Oh have you seen them mini 200w heat exchanger units ? like a mini fridge/aircon you could use that to get some serious led power into a micro grow

O yes, the intel CPU's came with thermal paste (another reason they rock!).

I've looked into buying mini air conditioning units before but only because of keeping myself cool in the summer time :-D.

Someone had a great idea to use a round heatink inside a tube and suck the air out the back. Similar to the idea behind a cool tube.
Sacrificing vertical space for horizontal space... it would look cool too. I suppose sucking air from a HS, rather than blowing through it, would work best only when the HS/fan combo would be sealed within a tube, creating an upwards vacuum. Otherwise how could one justify the use of sucking vs. blowing? (my filter seriously needs cleaned out... jeez)

I think if your going that far why not run a duct above the tent with the lights in it and have a hole in the tent with a reflector hole that the lights sit on ? that way it runs air across all the lights and you get more grow space like you can take your plants right to the top of your grow and they won`t burn

The buds are becoming crisper...the smell of hay and diesel are peaking...the hairs are all damn near orange...

Just to recap on the past guesstimates, we have:

@THE KONASSURE with ~168g

@Dloomis514 with 180.58g exact

@JoeyV with 64.3g exact

@bondoman with less than 28g

& @cityworker415 with ~115g

All guesstimate inputs are accepted and encouraged, as it's all for fun PLUS a custom-made signature ribbon for the one who guesses closest to actual weight!!!
