DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I meet a rep from, LSD led drivers, a chinese factory/company. He was chinese and it was hard to communicate, but I got the info I needed to check them out.
They are so damn close to meanwells. But...they have a bunch of different currents to choose from in each wattage class compared to meanwell.
They don't have a 200w dimmable to compromise from the hlg185. But there are a lot of smaller options that fit fewer cobs that meanwell lacks. Or some 3590 77v version options.

I am trying to get a few samples, but if anyone wants to beat me to it or needs a special current they have.

right, lumens/W decreases and LER stays mostly the same. Lumen depreciation is not as horrible for HPS as it is with MH. From growershouse 2014 article:

You can see the infrared spike at 825nm, a characteristic of all HID lamps, CMH, HPS and MH. Anything above 700nm in non photosynthetically active, although it may affect other characteristics of the plant. We do get some of the with white LEDs also

Awesome find GG.

Tons of flexibility with all the different current/voltage ranges they offer.

Might have to check them out when I get to my Vero 10 veg light.

There's a whole lot of drivers very similar to MW. Enclosures, currents, voltage ranges...I wonder whether one factory makes them all. Or if they share a design?
I got quoted in the $35-40 range for 150W ones w/o shipping. Probably not worth it for me.

He was a very nice rep and gave me a silk scarf after the meeting. A sign of good faith I believe.

I didn't figure it would be a huge amount cheaper, just slightly. After shipping should still might be less than a mean well and shipping. Bulk might help too.
The amount of current options is what makes them so interesting to me.
More options for like 2 cobs and still really high efficient. Even for just one cob, it's hard to find a driver over 90%.
And some harder driving options in there too.

Supra and all, as promised here is a couple pics of my vero 10 veg light build
at 300 ma with fasttech drivers. Nice light, love the spectrum for veg. Currently
hanging over my rooted clones for a little veg. Thanks for all ur help and I will
someday build a flower led for my room.
Also in the pics the wire nuts are just for protection all connections are soldered.

The veg light is definitely a gateway light for sure :eyesmoke:

Once it gets a hold of you it sure is hard to kick it!

I'm already looking at my little panel and can't wait to add on to it.

does anyone know if i could fit a cxb3590 @600ma on a meanwell lcm-40 or how much volt the cxb needs at 600ma? meanwell states that it provides 67v, i dont know if thats enough....

67 - 70v for the 72v cxa 3590. Thats a tight fit...not sure if theres any wiggle room on the meanwell driver. 36v would be fine..

Lcm-40 looks like a better fit at 500ma. Although the 600ma might work, you'd have to try it out.

Edit. Hmmm...lucky i checked. Not totally familiar with meanwell. This driver has a selectable current! You could run 350ma, 500ma, AND maybe 600ma.

Im building something very similar and its nice to know I can not actively cool it. Makes the build very simplistic. :-) Which I LOVE. Good job!

Its hard to give quality responses on the phone with bad thumbs.. LOL much easier on the comp.
