when i started my rubbermaid it was something made fun of, i like to see now EVERY new grower tries it, and loves it, cfls in a rubbermaid is fucking amazing if you know wht youre doing

Did you cut holes in it or just use it as is after you sized it for the fan cover

how is the heat in there, i just finished building mine and my temps are at about a hundred degrees. Any suggestions?
I have 2 120mm case fans. one at the bottom for intake and one at the top for exhaust. This is just the test run with 6 26w cfl's and i am already having problems with heat i'm really worried about using the flowering 42w ones. Any help on the heat problem would be greatly appreciated

bbDreams, what is happening is the box is heating up the ambient temp in the room that the box is in. So the only, or the best way is crank up the air conditioner, buy a small window unit, or use a rubbermaid cooler with blue packs and a hose conected to the intake. THe cooler method is the cheapest, but you have to exchange the blue packs twice a day( at least in veg) and th cooler needs holes around the bottom or crack the lid to allow enough air to pass though the cooler. Window unit works best almost too good, and turning you whole house into a ice cube can be expensive. Go window or if on a budget try the cooler method. Hope it works out for you good luck.

I know its been a while but how did your final product come out? What was your yield like?update: still trying to let her finish. i keep thinking im going to cut it down but it keeps getting fatter and the haurs are still 50/50. whatever i still got some bud in the meantime
you need to add an additional intake on your box, it can be passive, that should bring your temps way down, I have a 2 sqft flowering box with 4 42w, and 4 26w, temp is never above 80.............

yeah i got it figured out, i switched the fan from being active intake to passive and cut another hole so i have two exhausts and one passive intake, also just put some frozen bottles of water in there and presto temps haven't got over 85.
