Ok, I made a batch of the basic recipe last night. I used 16 grams of bud/leaf I had left over from an outdoor grow I had to pull early, so hopefully there is enough active ingredients to do some good.
I did decarb the cannabis first. The whole process was pretty easy/fast. Since it is for topical I didn't filter the coconut oil to death, just wrapped a stainless steel strainer with a single sheet of cheese cloth to filter. The cheese cloth was on the outside of the strainer so it went pretty fast.
Extracted the weed in the melted/heated coconut oil, filtered, melted the bees wax, added back the coconut oil, added some olive oil, and added essential oils (peppermint, spearmint, eucalyptus and lavender). I didn't add any heat via pepper or evil sauce. It was set up morning.
It works well without any further dilution. It melts pretty quickly as you apply it.
I've only used it since last night, but it seems like the pain in my shoulder has gone down and I'm not getting the zingers anymore when I overextend it. I'll have to go to PT so it doesn't freeze up on my, but at least I won't be in agony.
Pretty happy with how easy it was. Hopefully it will do the trick.
