DIY with Quantum Boards

3000k is fine to veg with, here's my next run after two weeks under 8x 304 boards @3000k 700w at the wall. Pic from last week.

Smoked all the strains flowered from the QB run (19) and passed out some to other growers. All have been impressed by the bud grown under Quantum Boards.

A few more bud pics from that run,

I do the same in both my rooms which are 8x15 and always seems to either stretch too much or not enough and I have floppy donkey dicks laying all over sword fighting each other
I have the same problem I should really just grow the same strain more than once so I know how much stretch there will be but I like to try different stuff. Last run my plants were so intertwined I could have lifted one up and the other 8 would come with it haha

I have the same problem. Have a bunch of fire strains but can’t just stick to them always hunting through beams to find the next best thing. Have Irene apricot x gamechanger, gsc, gsc x og kush, sin mint cookies, critical kush, gdp, Tahoe og and Larry Og but just isn’t enough I guess lol and probably more. Just to put it out there I have one room that is se hps hortilux thouies x3 and the other is a mix of cobs and qbs and in the summer I love the leds , the hps doesn’t compare but In the cold Canadian winter the hps really helps when running a flip to keep temps up. The quality of the led side and the gpw is way higher but I still need the old workhorse to keep me from running heaters in the winter.

Time to push the pedal -

Down in the infinity room ( 2 sided corner grow ) - the Mylar making that infinite mirror effect looks even trippier when you high. Anyways since I haven't put the other tents back up , I decided to pull the deep red LEDs and use the batwing rig for more light in these flowering weeks. The bounce effect is pronounced , so no optics for me.

I adjusted the QB wings on that rig to angle out the light ... I built that into the rig but since I normally hang vertically I never had to use it that way. Now i am running 410watts of QB .

288 QB - 260watt ( 3000k )
3 ) QB 304 - 150 watt ( 3500k ) dimmed

410 watt total.

The blue dream in the rear will be harvested first in about 2 weeks , the others about 4 weeks give or take. The far left plant just transitioned to flower last week and has preflower so starting. I plan to completely clear out all the plants before starting any more seeds.
I have been entertaining a crazy idea with this triangular grow space ... I have thinking of maybe a triangular SCROG - corner to corner , 1 plant grown Hempy or Octopot .

Probably look cool ....

Can the HLG 65 be attached directly to the underside of a wood desk instead of hung, or will there be heat issues if I dont leave any space above the boards?
It gets hot 60C -70C , will be fine. some airflow on front of board may help.

I hear you, wouldn't mind another 8 myself ;)
@robincnn or @Stephenj37826 any ETA on QB120s? More specifically, the Amazon 4-packs?
QB120 3000K should be back on Amazon by next weekend

QB 288 3000K US production boards have been there since late Oct. Same price.
They are same specification as Chinese. However the overall PCB quality is better with US production boards.
Here are some signs to check if you got a board that was made in US
Barcode sticker on top left, wrong date Feb 2017 top right, no marking for CCT
QB 288 3000K are not made in China anymore.

By end of Dec all spectrum of QB 288 will be made in US
We will make as many boards in US as possible.

I'm looking for a way to add a 700 ma string of deep reds\UVAs to supplement QBs without using a second HLG driver.
Can I use a Mean Well LDD-700HW buck driver fed off of the constant voltage HLG-185H driver in parallel to a QB ?
Check datasheet for
http://meanwellusa.com/productPdf.aspx?i=340#1
input is max 56v. you can only use if your driver is CV as all Meanwell CV's i know are max 54V
in short HLG-185H-xx works
HLG-185H-Cxxxxx NO

Suggestion? In the same font and size as HLG put "Born in the USA"
*I think Bruce would be cool with it.

Captain's log, day 18f since our ship discovered this strange little planet. Engineering has been keeping our quantom engine at 100% and the vero29 gravity initiator at 60%. It seems that finally the indigenous stopped their attempts of contacting the ship, and stabilized around 25cm bellow our cargo bay. The atmosphere of this planet is blocking us from flying up high, so we will have to remain at bay for 5 more lunar weeks, hopefully no more than 6.

Beautiful. Is that a 3x3?

I really need to get my second 4xQB120 fixture hung. Thinking of doing my next run under QBs from start to finish (I've been germing/sprouting/rooting under CFL). Any opinions from the QB-veterans on how close to the babies I should keep the fixture if running at 80 watts (the minimum for four 120s on an HLG-240H-C2100A)? I was thinking of starting at 36"?

Thanks! That's a 2.6x2.6 or 80x80 cm tent.
Can't really answer the spacing question as I have yet to used them for seedlings or Veg, but I would try with a simple lux meter to see at what hight you getting the 6k-10k range for the first 2 weeks or so. Makes sense?

Same size as my two tents. Wouldn't happen to be a Growlab GL80, would it?

Makes sense, yeah. Still haven't got around to getting a lux meter though! I really need to do that...

Yep, same one - great quality imo.
You can also download a lux meter app to your phone/tablet, I have found that they have similar readings, but it might vary based on the type of your phone.

Growlab 60 for veg and 80L flower here. Open and close every day and the zippers are fine with a few pin size leaks of no import. Well made and plenty thick and 4 years with no troubles. The G80L is actually 31”x59” and the rectangle shape is perfect for my space. Only tents I have ever used but way happy here! @dannykay's got some very happy plants! Great looking Grow and lights and all!
