DIY with Quantum Boards

Finally quantum'd out my veg tent! The Mars 600 blurple was nuking everything straight below it and not giving enough light to plants on the sides. Definitely not ideal for a vertical garden. Ignore how awful the veggies are looking, they've perked back up under the new QBs

Setup:
350 total watts of QB
3000K 260watt kit dimmed and pulling 235w from the wall in the flower tent. Wide open, the draw is around 290watts.
3x 5000K QB40, one per shelf in the veg tent drawing 115 watts.

I would use a hlg-480-2100 or 2 hlg-240-2100. You will like having the extra power. A single half-320-1400 would work but I know that I would have that maxed out in that space and want just a little more power imo.
I actually Just ordered 2 hlg-240h-c2100b's. Thanks for the reply @Rakin

Make sure to get a pot. Either 2 100k pots or 1 50k depending if you want all on one dimmer or 2 separate dimmers. And to get max out of the drivers with the pot you might need a 10k resistor but I don’t think you will ever need to max those 2 drivers in that space.

Ok, so what i want to know is, would it be smarter(cheaper)for me to buy the combo and get the drivers separately, cause i want to use them in separate rooms,or buy two whole kits?

If you want more flexibility... You can score the boards and appropriate HEATSINK.

Then you can look at the charts on website ... Decide on parallel or series config.
THEN shop for a B TYPE DRIVER instead of supplied A TYPE for more dimmer control. Plus you can pick the power setup you seek .... 200/240/320 watts or go for the gold and slam on a 600w driver ( 4 board ) or even a 480.

Dimming is super easy to wire ( blue / white ) and I'm gonna be a sport and give you the wiring diagram....

The drivers HLG provides via a kit is the same as those sold off site BUT you can buy a more powerful one if you like.

You can hook up the wires either way really, you cant wire a pot wrong as long as you hook up the wires to the first two prongs on the left.
