DIY with Quantum Boards

I think I know what's wrong now. Also you mean the HLG 260 Rspec V2, not 240.

I'm guessing you ordered the kit and put it together yourself, correct?

Because you wired them in parallel vs series.

You're probably frying those circuits. No wonder shit is falling off, lol.
Yeah, he might have an older kit that runs off parallel, but I was surprised when he said that because on HLG's site they say that they run in series: https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/kits/products/260w-qb-v2-rspec-led-kit

I have 2 of the V2 HLG 260 Rspec's, and 2 HLG 260 V1's. They both run in series. My V2's are just like his, with the same HLG-240-C1050A driver.

My V1's have the XLG driver, but are also ran in series.

I would bet money that's the problem to begin with.

Refresh my memory... I can't get the light to come on now... I hate having to break my lights down when I have to move around... This is correct right??? The lights I'm talking about...

Tell us which driver you're using and we will tell you whether to wire in parallel or series.
If it's the HLG-240H-C1050A in the picture, then you need to wire in series.

Except that you CAN wire Rspec in parallel as well as series. It's only theDiablo you can't wire in parallel. HLG's QB guide for Rspec shows them wired in parallel as well as series

Oddly I cannot find info an an HLG 240, just a 260. The driver in his pic shows 240. Was this light purchased from HLG or was it listed as an HLG? I see tons of lights listed as HLG because of HLG driver but are not HLG. Just asking since I cannot find any info on that particular configuration on HLG site.

iirc the drivers are rated at 240W but you can squeeze some more voltage out of them so HLG sells their fixtures and kits as 260. Same as with the 135W kit coming with what is technically a 120W driver.

Fair enough. My HLG 600 has a 600 driver but it's the only HLG I have had in my hands so I thought I would ask in case wiring was different.

Last quantum run allowed me to make some Alcohol and MCT OIL based tinctures.

QB96S ( 320watt ) with Agromax uv lamps. Dropped some new beans for the HLG 225 above.

Pic is “ golden dragon “ alcohol based tincture ... Decarbed KKP bud and everclear .
Under the tongue and I see stars.

MCT OIL was a golden green color ( haven’t tried yet ).

Ohh, I don't know, maybe the statement from HLG saying Don't Run them parallel, that's why there are no more DIY Diablos, running them in parallel was burning out the red LEDs. If I'm wrong, prove it!
You are wrong, the issue is reverse polarity, not running them in parallel. Here's your proof:

You don't know what you are talking about... If I was frying this board it would have been done by now... Keep those shitty comments to yourself, thank you very much... I don't appreciate rude talk when I'm looking for help with something that means the world to me... I cee why someone would leave here... DAMMIT MAN!!! Anyway, someone has turned me towards the right direction, so thanks to the people who weren't trying to make me feel stupid... PEACE!!!20200113_142407.jpg20190905_205908_HDR.jpg20200121_175008.jpg

I don't think anyone was trying to make you feel stupid. I myself am confused. The kit on HLG's site says to wire in series, but you wired in parallel, so we are curious what exactly the setup is. What driver do you have on those two QB288's?

Are you getting your period?

I was just trying to help, but good luck to you.

Just curious who turned you in the right direction and what was your solution?

I think I see the confusion @Frank Nitty. They are wired in series! None of us paid enough attention to the photos you posted and conclusions were jumped to bc u mixed up the terminology. All is well you have them wired the right way.

The green wires connect the boards together, and you have a single red white pos/neg going back to the driver.

If it was running in parallel, each board would have its own white and red wire going to the driver directly, and no green wires connecting boards.

I stick with my original comment that those molex connectors are shitty and ive broken 2 or 3 myself.

So everyone made some mistakes, can we all roll some fat spliffs now and be friends again pls ;)
