I hate to say it, as I'm a DIY guy myself, but for what it would cost to DIY such a light, you can buy a refurb, with a warranty! The 600 Rspec is $599.00, you could DIY it for about $550 but then your only option for heatsinks are the Slate heatsinks and they no longer sell a 4 board heatsink.
My DIY Diablo light cost me: $608 (
EDIT: $58
for 4 Diablo boards shipped, two HLG240H-C2100b drivers $149 shipped, plus wire WAGOs, etc another $22. There's $759 and that's without a heatsink! I was lucky, I got a free heatsink. Those big slab heatinks are not cheap! IF you could buy one, with the powder coating included, I'd bet $150-$200. I can buy a refurb 650R for $749..............
What would be a good build to replace a 1k watt hps?
Sorry to ask such a rube question but LEDs are kind of an enigma to me. Almost jumped into cobs a few years back, kinda glad I didn't now.
I recently bought a hlg 135w quantum board kit and am pretty happy with it. Really bright
Cob kits has HLG on sale atm. What do I need to start replacing hps's? What configuration?
