I want to build a quantum setup and not purchase something prebuilt. Trying to maximize how far my money goes. I want to build a setup to flower a 3x3 but not break the bank.

Does anyone know if a place to buy the components of good quality for a good price.
I bought 4 of these boards and heat sink combo https://atreumlighting.com/products/atreum-288-2-led-board-horticulture-full-spectrum-grow-light-panel-samsung-lm301b but I got mine off their eabay account. I ordered 4 of these boards and an HLG-480h-C2100A driver off digikey. All other things like nuts and bolts, wires, wagos, aluminum angle, etc., and a DIY HLG 550 v2 cost me around $500 (not even the 20% discount codes they have get close to this). I used HLGs 26 x 20 dimensions for the 550 of the heatsink for aluminum angle dimensions and I finished the light and hung it up in my 4x4 tent. Go here https://www.rollitup.org/t/atreum-lighting-qbs.979480/(post # 4) for a example design from a fellow grower who built a light with 4 of these boards and heatsinks but used a 20 x 20 frame for his 2x2 tent. My light is damn near identical to his. Good luck!

I have the ability to flower w/ anywhere between 35 and 60 watts per square foot of the lm301b LEDs, hydro, minor co2 (bags) - not a sealed room. From a ppfd perspective, how narrow a range do I want across the canopy 600-1100, 800-1000? I often see people show ppfd maps with 200-300 ppfd around the edges and 600 in the center kind of thing which seems like minimal veg light rather than optimal flower. I have enough boards and a dimmer so that I can smooth the light over the canopy but I'm not sure what I should be aiming at.

Has anyone here done experimentation or is aware of any good research on yield/quality vs. light output with the Samsung leds?

For extra points, the far red, at the end of the day and the reptile lights (UVB) sound like they have potential but most of what I can find so far is internet word of mouth rather than any kind of controlled testing. Has anyone here tried testing these with the other variables fixed to see if there is a significant difference in yield/quality?

Thanks,
t

Could i get an opinion on these cree strips vs fstrips vs qb 120x4 in a 32”x32” soil grow. I currently am running samsung f strips

An i saw these cree strips
BD1CED83-0BF3-4604-BC49-5E844C1D81DE.png 42FA8181-DE98-4A6B-8A81-B46211E3603D.png Cost for the fstrip is 32.00 cost of the cree are 10.00 cost og qb 4x120 boards would be 120.00 then of course cost of driver.
Also i ws wondering about a set up of mix kelvin
1x3000k- 1 x 4000k- 1x2700k- 1x4000k- 1x3000k
Mostly for flower but i would like to be able to run full cycle also. And ibwas considering an
Hlg 240-48 @ 1 amp per strip should hit
230-240 w 32 w per sq ft.?? Any in oit would be most helpful

I am very new to all this and was just wondering what the best quantum board on the market is right now...
Kinda depends what you're looking for.
HLG makes really good stuff and stands behind their gear.
Chilledtech also is and does the same but the boards are a bit different in size and spectrum.
Led-tech.de and cutter electronics gear seem to have good reputations but I have zero experience with them.

There isn't just one 'good' company, these and others have good offerings. Keep reading the threads and you'll get a better idea of what will work best for your growspace.

Just a quick point to make here, because I see this all over the place, and at the risk of being labeled an ass over what some might consider a technicality: there is only one company making Quantum Boards. I'm not sure if you're asking the difference between models but your mention of the work "market" leads me to think you are a bit confused. Again, I hate to be an ass but there is only one firm making Quantum Boards. If you are asking about other lights in a similar form factor, or asking about a comparison between board style lights, it helps to point that out.

Yeah apparently I was a bit confused lol. Are there other lights with similar form factor that are better than the samsung models?
