Dmannn's legal NCA Rec. Grow

Hey y'all. As you all know CA legalized recreational pot about 8 months ago and now A LOT of people and employers have come out of the shadows. I went all organic as i have in the past but decided to go with partial cover(hoop house). I picked up the seed stock from Northern CA/Santa Cruz. Some sour diesel (SD), Purple elephant kush (PEK).and Platinum Cookie (PC) (germinating).

The soil is a bit different than what i have mixed up in the past. The base soil is out of paradise CA. Its got some decomposed rock dust, gypsum, and topsoil. I mixed in a bag of composted chicken manure, a bag of worn castings, a bag of fox farm soil, bag of bat guano, oyster shell flower, kelp, mycos, garden lime and perlite. I have been hitting the soil with AACT made from Roots organics organism, chico earth worm juice and molasses AND letting the rain soak the felt pot soil mix for about 3 months.

I had the seed starts indoors for about one month until i could get them sexed. I started with 12 seeds, 6 didn't make it past transplanting after germination (dried out). Only one came out male, so i am germinating another few seeds of platinum cookie to get one female. The male is an SD. I am hoping to get at lest one more mail that i can pull some pollen from, indoor, about 2 months from now. I wanted to wait until April 20 but the pants just didn't want to wait, so instead of two transplants i decided to go ahead and put them in the 100gal felt pots.

I transplanted the females last Wednesday day at night with sprinkled mycoses and gave them some full strength AACT. They have already grown one full inch from the first topping. Almost no transplant shock! The pail leaves are the first trues.

I plan on feeding with earth juice grow/bloom with AACT until before harvest. Here are some pictures of the set up. I also garden lots of veggies too. That is an artichoke in the foreground.

BAAAZZING!!, I tried sunlight monster monster cropping since we had such good weather here! The results are were excellent! The plastic has been down. I tried getting some of the strain info in the pictures. They are about a foot or more tall and seem to grow an inch or more a day. i have be ben topping only because the rate of grow has been explosive since the hot weather. The drip system is working excellently.

More pictures. I have been using food grade diatomaceous and a and organic neem oil and s spray bottle for occasional pest control. I have been using my own brew Of AACT. and RO water. This are looking good and on track. Starting a new job so the drip system will run in the morning for a few hours once a week or more as they require.

It was a VERY windy day! So I decided to give a few of them some heavy supercrop treatment. This plus the heavy wind should give me some healthier bushier shaped plants with knuckled branches. i went heavy on those that are not taking to just topping alone. I will post results in a few days!

Dmannn, damn mangrow is looking good I'll sub up to this journal for sure. You thinking of growing some monsters in that pots

Thanks bud! I thought after the years of growing in the hills i thought i owed it to the community to share what has worked for me. Yes! The 100 gallon pots make for some tall heavy yields. The next step up would be 300's in them you can get two 3-4lb plants. Here are the next day results of heavy super cropping and 25-45 mph winds..

Wait you grow 2 plants in that one 300 gal and you get 3-4 lbs with each of them? Mother of all that's green... LoL do you use ladders to cut the top and chainsaw to cut it down like a treeI am growing small plants currently. Just a SOG type grow in 15L pots

Totally doable, there are guys up here fully 10 lbs off single plants. But they have super genetic strains. I am hoping the SD strain i picked up will push about 4 with some luck..

Nice brother! I think you'll definitely be able to get a good run in this time. Wish I could do big outdoor grows but don't have the space for it. My love is for single big plants

Some pictures from today. You can see what plants are taking to more or less aggressive training methods.

A couple shots. One of the plants was stretching too much. I decided to pull it as it is probably going mail. I have seen this sort of unstable behavior and decided to replace it with late seedling and not waste a space(PC). I put some of its tops in the cloner to see if i might get a bit of pollen later on.

I think we have hit the natural limit on topping most of the plants(Both SD and PEK). The PEK has had very predicable pruning response and is fairly low maintenance. I super cropped the crap out of the SD and brought the lower monster crop growth to the center. Topping and super cropping seems to be getting more node growth and stem splits. Each plant now has at least ten upright branches. The main branches have 3 to 4 splits. I topped the new uprights in the center and super cropped back the main branches again. I would like to get at least 3 stem splits from the monster crop growth we brought back to the center. We will see if this SST and coconut water helps out with that.

The soil isn't draining as fast as I thought it would, but this might be a good thing as temps reach the 100's frequently. I have been checking it with a bimetal moisture meter and the smart pots are sill "wet" by the edges, so no water for a week. The plants are still squat. When the center growth has caught up with the main growth i can get the last if the topping in.

Yeah buddy!

Still haven't watered and its been three weeks.. And the plants are still growing very fast, I have dialed back on topping and now an focussing more on super cropping to get the right shape. I think topping will start up in a few weeks when I get more of the lateral growth, up towards the center. Good luck!

Some overhead pictures, I you can see how they have been super cropped back, I have gotten a method down where i grip the stem weaved between my middle and index finger and then i damage the stem. It doesn't break the stem, but weakens it so it slumps over. The pots are about 4 feet across.

They are loving the heat! The rain was a nice 5 hour slurp, right after I gave them a shot of a 3 day AACT made of fresh EWC castings, EW juice and OroganismXL. I fresh mixed it with earth juice "grow" and another "organic juice" called Trident's Pride Liquid Fish Soil Fertilizer, along with a bit of General Hydroponics Diamond Black. This was the first heavy feeding. I want to see how they react this week. If they respond well I will hit them super hard with some nitrogen in 2 weeks and wait again.

Looking good. Will follow. Hope to do something like this when it legalizes in my state.

I also added some aloe vera juice in with the mix. I have been foliar feeding with coconut water at dusk. Neem and diamaticious earth earth for pest control.

If any one has any advice or some next level experience to help out that would be nice. I haven't selected a Kelp liquid yet but also haven't found something the has stood out.

Getting taller and fuller! I have been thinking about setting up some scrog nets over the top of them and have it slide it and down on 8ft pvc uprights. I will have to sort something out to support them..
